Infamous039
I have a 94 Banshee with, FMF Pipes and Silencers, 12/41 gearing, Uni Airfliter with open box, TORS removed, jetted professionally. My bike starts and both of my pipes release smoke and is firing properyl. After letting run to warm up one cylinder seems that it is losing spark somewhere b/c only a little bit of exhaust is coming out but the other side is firing perfectly. I took my plugs out and the were a chocolate brown color but one side was a little wet on the plug, so I put new ones in and the problem was still there. What can I do to fix this and What is the problem with it?????????? It is causing the bike to run very poorly and bogg out????????????? Wallrat
Sounds like one side is rich. Probably have a stuck float but could also be different size jets (professionally jetted doesn't always mean you get a rocket scientist). It could even be that your carbs are out of sync. Worst case would be that you have an airleak and the guy jetted it to make up for that one side being extra lean. I'd spray some carb cleaner all around the boots and reads, then I'd pull apart your carbs and clean em and check the jets. Then put em back on and sync em up. See if that helps. Also make sure your choke tube is still on, I believe that could cause problems as well.
UAQRACING
Well this problem has happend to me maaaaanny times what you should do is allways ride you banshee fast because it is oil mix, right? So that means if u drive it slow it dosent have enough time to burn the oil so that clogs up ur spark plugs. P.S always keep spare plugs under the seat. banshee tuner
Your reeds could be sticking on that cylinder also.
clxbanshee
I just had this happen to me last week and I ended up having two problems. 1) One of my reed petals was completely broken off. 2) My spark plug was fouled and had to be replaced because it wouldn't evern work after being cleaned. Good luck!
GYTWYPT
Those are all good things to check. One more though. make sure your jets are tight. I recall having some problems like that and my buddy found some loose jets.
fastbanshee8
Could be a bad spark plug boot also. Electrical problems seem to get worse, as the affected part gets hotter.
