banshee vs. yfz

i just got a banshee after being into 450,s the last few years and i still have my yfzthat im putting in a 13.5 523 stroker ice cube kit and i mostley ride sand. well anyway my wife will mostly be riding the yfz, so i really need to hop up this banshee so i dont have my wife beating me. i was thinking a 7mm crank, ported cub cylinder, a good set of carbs and some bigbore cpi inframes and shave a little weight. i just need some opinions should a banshee setup like this beat the yfz.

im sure that would be way..way overkill to simply beat that modified yfz 450 ,id get a 4mill crank and a good set of dune ported cylinders w/ a coolhead on 19cc domes for al l around fun ,why do you feel the need to have a full blown 120hp bike to compete with a 55 hp yfz 450 ?:bolt::dance:

gonna need the big tool kit for the stroker 4 stroke anyway misewell go big or go home right? :D

I think I would stay with a 4 mill anything over that and the reliability goes out the window when duning.

oh and I have not found a four stroke yet that can touch my 4mill cub

i have seen a 50 hp yfz spank almost every one, i have both, yfz450 43 hp 27torque - banshee 48 hp 35lbs torque, it is a close race and the yfz wins most the time, maybe it is traction, but i am putting my money on the different transmissions

who is almost everyone? I agree that a 43 hp 450 will probably beat a 48 hp banshee in most cases because of traction. But we're not talking about a 5 hp difference here...more like 40-50 horses!!

:rotflmao: because that adds like a million hp right?

 Actually 61 hp quoted from a shop that sells ice cube kits. I'm almost hitting that with a port!

I asked the guys over on planet sand if it would be worth it for me to sell my 4mill and step up to a 7 or a 10 mill cub, alot of responses I got reliability will suffer more and more the bigger you go. its like the old saying says, the dog that $hits fast, don't $hit long.

and is that 7mill drag ported? do you just drag it or do you dune it all day long? I mean if I made a 24mill t-rex motor and did nothing but ride it around the pits it would last forever two!! its all in what you do with it and how you take care of it.

I'd say a stock stroke cub motor, cpi or similar pipes, 35mm carbs and other supporting mods with a +4 swingarm and 21x12x8 10 paddle extremes (+6 if you want to go 22" - 12 paddle, better for drags not as fun all around duner) would be a fund all around dune setup that would spank the 450 and be the best bang for the least $'s spend.

I'll back that up....

The only thing I saw beat him at Silver lake was a "Busa powered Shee...and not by much at all...

If I had the money, I'd get JT's setup, with the exception of 32mm Lectron Carbs instead of the 39mm Kehins he had...and I might not go drag port...I ride a little more trails.

Other than that...I'd get a 4 mil cub bike in a heartbeat.

I am putting my money on horsepower and that 7mm cub could give that yfz a pretty healthy head start before it kicked its a$$. You could spank a yfz with a 4mm cub and not have to trench your cases, which would save you some money.

A 4mm ported stock cylinder bike will beat 99.999% of the 4 strokes out there. I handed a 450R on NOS his ass pretty handily up a hill that tends to favor the 4 strokes too, short and steep with my old motor, and that was with stock carbs and pump gas domes.
