If you search the subject on here you can read about everyone's personal choice, and you will notice that they vary from the cheap shit with a picture of a lawn mower on it, to klotz (a popular choice on here). As far as full synthetic goes, yes it is good. You don't want to run it while you are breaking in your engine, but after that it is a good choice. If your bike is jetted correctly, you should never have an oil related problem with the motor. If you're dead set on running the Redline oil, I've heard it's very good as well. locogato11283 Posted December 17, 2005 Report Share Posted December 17, 2005 i run klotz...i think that youll find that once people try an oil they stick with it.doesnt matter if its brand a, b, c or d. if they use it and they dont blow an engine up or anything then they consider it to be good oil. now on the other hand if someone blows a motor up using a certain type of oil then they usually blame the oil, and then dont use it anymore. im guessing thats where youll hear most of the bad remarks about whatever type of oil.. Your blends I would stay away from, mainly due to the fact that manufacturers are only required to add around 10% synthetic to qualify as a "blend", yet they mark the price up as if it were half synthetic. wayfst Posted December 18, 2005 Report Share Posted December 18, 2005 (edited) I use amoil saber mixed at 80:1 and like every other oil mentioned up here it does a great job in not letting the piston stick to the sides of the cylinder. Let's conscider this--- your main jet can only move X amount of fuel and oil mix, fuel is what cools the piston, not the oil, so if the mixture has more fuel and less oil moving through that jet, it stands to reason that your engine's internal components will run cooler. now before all the girls get their panties in a wad, I'm not saying anyone is wrong for their choice-----crap I can hear them bunch already. anyway, less oil-more fuel. there are some other points we could go into, but I know I'm going to be wiping noses for the next week over this.
