01bansheefox
Just surfing again and saw these pistons...... True? Or false advertisment?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YAMAHA-BANS...1QQcmdZViewItem
Justintoxicated
run whatever you want but I'm sticking with Weisco. I'm skeptical on the strength of this pistons, ESPECIALY since they are ported. And the eBay ad does not even say wether they are forged or cast, only that they are made in Germany... 01bansheefox
Im not in need of pistons im just wondering if those really give you horsepower increase from having ports in them, i have never seen that before.
banshee tuner
If you want bigger power from intake ports go with vito's they are made by wiseco.

I hear you can gain a HP or 2 I doubt they would give you 8HP gain though, of course you would be a higher risk of piston failure due to the ports. At least from listening to others that have tried it. Not sure on those specificaly but still... Wiseco makes their forged pistons. Not sure who makes the cast pistons.

locogato11283
i have heard of people having ported pistons crank and then the skirts break off...that doesnt sound like much fun to me. i dont think that for everyday normal riding whatever hp they claim could be worth possibly havin one break, then tearing up a crank or cylinder.. Fireman-hott
If they are made in Germany they are probably WSM's which are a solid piston. I have a set in my cub now and had a set in my 220psi trail monster cylinder.

rocketboy
why take an expensive chance of one cracking and/or dropping a skirt or who knows what else for a 1 hp gain ,id just get the best most reliable piston set , wiseco prolites Edited December 17, 2005 by rocketboy
strokersquid
had a set of ported pistons in my rz street bike and eventually the skirt did break after 5k mi. i replaced with plain wisecos and i cant tell any difference
TheBansheeMan86
I had a set of the Vito's Superstock Forged, and they had A LOT more power than the stand wiseco's. The power increase was almost all focused on the top end, which was fun for open dunes, but for small trails etc, it was harder to get into powerband. Fireman-hott
Loco yes Nates using the same pistons on his Cubs. Theres a reason. Did you see the clip of his cub beating an 800cc snowmobile that won both the 800cc class and the liter class? Man knows what he is doing thats for damn sure. I believe koolguyson from PS was the one riding the shee.
