superdave
I have T-6's and I like them...people on the site will tell you that the t-5 is better...If you are going to go all out and build the motor down the road then the T-5 is better and toomey will tel you that. If you leave the motor mostly stock then go T-6...my bike runs well....has good power all over..., but I am sure you will get more advise..good luck..D
UNITED_BANSHEE_10
thnx for the reply, but so your saying that t-6 is quite like stock ?
Fireman-hott
Not even close to stock. The T-6's are designed to maximize power on a stock motor. If you will be getting porting, or if its already been ported than T-5 will be the way to go.
ogre03
I have t6's I like them but I'm not ported. I do hawever plan on getting porting, so realistically 5's would have been a better choice for me. You may not want porting now, but I'd still reccomend you get 5's instead they are cheaper and you are going to get a big gain either way over stock pipes. Of course you don't have to get toomeys at all, there are lot's of brands to choose from. What type of riding do you do? The way you plan to set up you bike will play a part in what pipes are the best choice for you too.
Banchetta
Both the T6's and T5's are a top end pipe...Depending on your type of riding you should spend a lot time considering this choice. The pipe puts the power where YOU want it. If you do a lot of tight woods riding w/ minimal top end, then get the 2 into 1 pipe. If you ride fast trail, mx, sand pits, all around, then get a midrange pipe like Pt mids, fmf gnarlies, fmf ssts, Bills, dmc. If you want to do some dune riding, fast tt racing, ice racing, drag racing then get some high rev pipes, like Toomey, pc, trinity, cpi, shearers, rockets, etc... UNITED_BANSHEE_10
you say T-5's are better when ported... what does ported mean?
northshore
Porting is done in your cylinders, it makes the ports bigger so you can get more air in and more exaust out. I use fmf fatty's for my exaust, they work fine, a huge difference over stock, but ive never run toomey's.
Hulio-mv
i have a verry mild port done and run pro circuts and i like them alot my last 2 shees have had t5s but were not ported and i liked them as well i just went with the pc thistime cause i found a good used set cheap
ogre03
In order for anyone to really reccomend a pipe for you, you have to let us know what type of riding you do... Dunes, tight trails, fire roads, mx, etc. Different pipes are designed to make peak power in different rpm ranges.
UNITED_BANSHEE_10
well, somthing that has a great sound, respones and Top spped. So what do i need to install to have those? please i want your opinions.
northshore
i think you will be happy with either fmf fatty's, or some t6's. they are both good all around pipes, and have a great sound, if you dont have many other mods, then this is the ones for you. make sure you re-jet your carbs when your done, and if you dont already, get your self a k&n and pro flow kit to help get some more air with the upgraded exaust. speed_demon
I have T6's and I love them, they're a great pipe as long as you don't get it ported although a few people here run T6's on ported motors and they say it's great. From what i've heard T5's are better than T6's on ported motors. It just depends on where you ride and what you want out of your banshee. In my opinion T6's are one of the best pipes on a stock banshee and also one of the best pipes with all the normal minor mods you can do and if top end is what your looking for you definately won't be dissapointed
hittintrees srh
Dude, it mite just be me, but I always like to sorta plan for the future... Ya never know what ya mite want to do a while down the road. So in that case I would get some T5's or Pro-Circuts. Both pipes respond VERY wll to porting and other motor mods..
