ssanddemon
So would it be less complicated to kust buy a new Nos Head? 447189[/snapback] Yes.. well, no. Depends on how close you are to a machinist who can do a decent milling job for a reasonable price. The best and nicest way to go is the Noss (or other aftermarket) head. They provide better cooling and give you the option of changing dome size. But my bike hauls butt and doesn't overheat, so I like the shaved head just fine. slimeball
If I choose to change the dome size, What else do I ave to do to the bike to compensate for changing over? Nothing? or does it require further mods?
Wallrat
As long as you don't go overboard with the domes you don't have to change a thing. At sea level you can get down to about a 20cc dome. Any lower and you'll need to run either a mix or full race gas. Plus at higher compression, the crank is more likely to seperate so you should have your crank welded before going too high. Just stick with a 20cc or above and you'll have nothing to worry about. Justintoxicated
my stock crank started to seperate with just pipes. Your next best gain is to port or go stroker w/porting, you will need new carbs reed with that too and possibly a new head, Doing it all at once saves headache and money in the end.... Youc an do a high output stator for bright lights with adjustable timing plate for a good price from ricky stator, the gain will not be that much but you can re-use that stuff later.
