bansheeryder21
So you have a 14 front sprocket with only 12 teeth? You should definetly get a new sprocket. You could throw your chain if you leave that broken one on. If you want more acceleration, than yes get a 13 tooth sprocket. I ride in sand and it helps me out a lot. it gave me alot more torque thru all my gears. The only thing that sucks is when I ride in dirt, I get way too much tire spin! Good luck! ps: that sprocket only cost about $10-$15.
PUSH THE THROTTLE
I have stock gearing 14/41 today i was checking my front sprocket and i found that is missing 2 teeth!..so it has 12! it is ok to run like this? or if i get a new 13T sprocket will i see a difference noticeable on acceleration?? thanks 445715[/snapback] If you actually broke off 2 teeth I wouldn't run it you risk throwing the chain off. If it's just a 12 tooth to begin with you're fine. If yours was a 14 you'll gain a touch of accelleration going to the 13 and a little top speed, you might also add some tire spin and in return loose some acceleration though. If you had a 12 you'll loose a touch of accelleration going to the 13 but gain some speed, and it should slip less.

Rooster
Remember, if you're replacing the front sprocket you should replace the rear one too, and the chain. If you just replace one item you stand a big chance of snapping the chain, and that's not a good thing, trust me. Rooster
locogato11283
impretty sure those sprockets are the same. you can always order from RMATV. primary drive sprockets are about 7 for thefront and 15 forthe rear. def buy a new one at least. and maybe even go to 13 if u wanna try it. theyare only 7 bucks.. ozosborne
What set up do most of you guys use? And with just a few mods can I run the same, I'm looking for more top end and less wheel spin?
fastbanshee8
I'm running a 14/40 in the sand, and it pulls my 10 paddle haulers just fine, but I've got quite a few mods also.
aguita
i use my shee on drag more than in sand..i just put my warrior 13t sprocket on front..i can fell some more torque but the engine pulls needs a higher gearing cuz it feels that it has more speed to build up ..so i guess im going 15-41--what setup could be fine.. banshee tuner
With stock 14-41 gearing I felt like I wound out to early, then I put on 15-41 and got less wheel spin and gained a lot of top speed. Now I'm running 15-42 and have a little better bottom and enough top end left to.
righteyeblind
Put a 13/43 on your bike and in the sand you will blow the doors off people. I have sst's with a 2-1 ait filter kit and I smoke big bored yfz's all day banshees with cool heads and toomeys. IT is the way to go! aguita
i dont ride @ dunes..i mostly do trails, and drag ...so..i was thinking going 15-41? how does this sounds??
banshee tuner
If you want to drag gear it to start off in 2nd. 1st is a waste in drag because you have to shift to early and take the chance of hitting neutral.
jjfizzle51
yes you will notice a hell of a diffrence in acceleration well wheel spin at least. i would defenitly get the 13 tooth for dunes, but if you ride hard pack most the time stick with 14 tooth way to much wheel spin on hard pack with the 13 tooth
