outlawchico151
Hot Rod Crankshaft what is that does that give you alot of HP...what are the sizes and is that better or give it more hp that a drag porting
locogato11283
i have heard of some ppl having problems with the hotrod cranks. i think the welds are comin apart on them..the crank itself wont really give u any hp unless its a 4mm or up, its just an aftermarket alternative to stock. if u want more power u need to look into porting. dawarriorman
Yeah from what I've read on planetsand the welds weren't holding. I would think you could have them rewelded and it should hold fine, but I wouldn't get one now until the problems are figured out/resolved. outlawchico151
so im guessing there a piece of sh** but lets say if i was 2 go 4mm+ what would b da diff/.?
Wallrat
I wonder if that's a quality control issue. I'm running a longrod, +4 wiseco h129 crank and the welds were top-notch. I'm a welder so I know what to look for. Maybe its just some cranks aren't done as well as the one I had? Dunno... +4 stroker gives you considerably more HP and torque at all rpm levels. Longrods give you better reliability by decreasing the angle of the rods and reducing side stresses on the piston skirts.
outlawchico151
but what would give more hp a drag port or hot rod crank/
badassbanshee479
Put the two together!! you should have the cylinders ported to compansate for the longer stoke anyway. if you dont you will not get the full potential out of the crank. port timing will be off causing poor performance with just adding a stroker crank. just my 2 cents
FASTOYS
The HP comes from porting ! YOu can gain some more hp by switching to a "stroker" crank from your stock stroke crank!
PassionRE
I'm running a longrod, +4 wiseco h129 crank and the welds were top-notch. I'm a welder so I know what to look for. Im a welder too and your right, they are top knotch welds. Crank seperation is totally NORMAL. Welds just slow it down a little. Consider yourselves lucky, Watercraft engines seperate cranks 10 times faster than Banshees. Doesn't matter who makes it ,welds it,.... you ride it hard, add a little extra HP and it WILL seperate....period. Just tear it down occasionally and when it gets a little excessive, press it,true it and weld it again....Jim
