yamahakid1
i have a 98 banshee with mild port and polish pc pipes and reed spacers. i want to get a cool head preferibly noss and dont know what size dome to run some say 20 is good on pump gas but could be pushing it. what is the lowest dome size i should get. also i will be adding a pro design impellar and prob a +4 timing advance. Will I stilll be running on pump gas, because wit the port and pipes now i already run premium just because my dad thinks we might as well. biggun6ss
The more compression and timing you have the higher octane you will need to run, they say more than 160psi you need to run race gas. Do you know what your current compression is? Would be wise to go buy a compression tester and see. Your eleation also plays a factor on compression. IF you go to the NOSS website there is a table that can give you an idea of what domes you might need, you can click on the link here on the hq. Porting will bring your compression down some, but it is better to be safe than sorry
yamahakid1
thanks man also does anyone know if i added the vitos super stock pistons if it would mess with the port timing and mess everything up or what?
biggun6ss
Don't know about that one, but most people use the wisco pistons.
ogre03
Your port and pipes wouldn't require you to use a higher ocain fuel, however you should run premium anyway so your dad is right in having you run it. Do a search on here regarding the vito's pistons that has been disussed more than a few times. People seem to have varying oppinions on them, but if I remember right I believe they are designed for stock porting. Like I said search for "vito's" and you should find some info on them. Justintoxicated
My guess is you will be ok on premium pump gas depending on compression. 50/50 mix at most. SS pistons are for stock port, I would Definately run Weiscos! Edited December 6, 2005 by Justintoxicated
