Joshtruction
OK, I am starting this thread for 2 reasons (hopefully it works...) and reason one being so I can learn. Reason two, so other newbies like me can find some good info in a search. Lets start with simple Cheetah cub questions: What are cubs? (I already know they are better cylenders) What do cubs do? (flow more) What kind of power potential is there for stock as cast cubs? ( I keep reading about big out of the box numbers in my searches) Is there a detailed list of what parts I would need to run cubs somewhere??? Whats stock bore size vs. Cubs bore size? Key words: Cubs, Power, 100+ horse, insane, power mods, race, engine, cylenders, heads, aftermarket, reeds, newbie, sick, crazy, cool, stroker, +4 +8 +10 +12 +14mm, long rod, pro light, prolite, compression, cool head, race gas, cheetah Edited November 30, 2005 by Joshtruction
Shee-Male
cubs do flow more, they are also available with a larger reed (250 reed I belive)(the cubs use the factory size reeds). they are std. bore size (64mm)so you can use them with your stock bottom end. The most importent key word your missing is Cheetah since they are Cheetah cubs....get it. I don't think you need anything specific to bolt them on just the cyls. themselves and a good set of aftermarket pistons, I belive the 2 cyls are cast as one. odaen
There's some info on this thread: http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=53033 You can use all of the same parts that stock cylinders would use (reeds, head, pipes, etc). It's a monoblock with better cooling, a nikasil plated bore and available in stock, 4mm, 7mm, and 10mm castings. They come with triple exaust ports and better port layout than the stock cylinders for drag applications. I'm too f'n tired to think of anything else right now to type.........but that's a good start.

Joshtruction
check this link outhttp://mccoysperformance.com/index.php?id=17,0,0,1,0,0 443115[/snapback] doesn't trinity sell them for 100 bucks cheaper? Do they price match?
23champ
No dealer can sell the cylinders them selves for less than $875. But the price breaks start coming when buying the whole top end kit. As far as bore size...there are two options. a 65mm bore, and a 68mm bore With the 65mm you can still use banshee pistons, with the 68mm you have to go to blaster pistons, and change the squish angle on your domes ( for best performance). On a bolt on stock stroke application, my guess would be around 80hp with stock carbs, and (for example) toomey T5 pipes. Oh, the cubs also have better cooling capabilities also. The best thing to do is pick a reputable builder, tell him what you want the motor to do, and buy exactly what he tells you to and you will have a screaming motor guarenteed! sheefreak
Oh yeah, just from the little I've spoken to Jeff from F.A.S.T., he would be a good choice for that reputable builder.
