Ori
hey,i was woundering how much it would cost to polish the ports up and polish the outside of the cylinders?thanks
ogre03
the price of having your engine ported will depend on who does it and what type of porting you have done. Figure maybe $250 to $500 plus. You really need to talk to a builder about what you are looking to use your engine for, that way they can reccomend a port job that compliments your riding style and current mods. As far as polishing the outside of the cylinders I'm not sure what you mean. Are you saying strip the finish off the jugs and polish them out? ogre03
I'm really not sure how much that would run, someone may show up on here before too long that would have a better idea than me. I think it would be more expensive that it is worth. As far as the porting though give jeff at F.A.S.T. a call. Everyone is very impressed with his work and his service. He goes by fastoys on here. His # is 785-364-5325. Also Jim at Passion RE 918-232-3950 Edited November 30, 2005 by ogre03
BigRed350x
Get a wire-wheel and start going at them things, then just start doing the whole polish thing.
Wallrat
If you've got a compressor just pick up a die grinder and some 3m loc discs. RNBrad did a polishing write-up awhile back that covered the whole process. I polished both my hubs to a mirror finish in about 3 hours. XxMeltIcexX
Polish them yourself.. Get yourself a bench polisher.. strip the finish with aircraft paint remover (meant for aluninum so it wont etch the metal).. Its nice to know you did all your polishing... If you need more info.. ill find Meat_Heads old thread for you.. step by step..
