odaen Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 what you guys thing about a drag porting and shaving the heads? 440804[/snapback] your port the cylinders and shave the head. shaving the head will give you more compression and more low to mid torque. too much compression will cost you some topend performance. porting the cylinders is probably the best mod you can do for HP gain to your motor. get it ported to your riding style though. there are numerous differnt types of porting, find a builder and setup to make what you need. you won't be disappointed. if you wanna talk to a good builder, give cameron a call at redline racing 541.367.2453. he's a damn good builder and has the best customer service i've ever encountered. Wallrat Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 Dunno your mods but I wouldn't bother with compression or porting until you have pipes/filter(s). After pipes, porting is your best bang for the buck. Keep in mind though if you think you might build a stroker one day either tell your builder or wait on the porting. I had considered porting and was going to do it after the season was over but then my engine blew up and took the crank with it. Ended up dropping a +4 crank in it and was very thankful I hadn't done the porting earlier. Quote
Ducman Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Just curious, if you live in Chico CA since its in your log in name? If so there is a local builder in Anderson (1 hr to the north of Chico) that ports banshee's, sells all kinds of parts, now including Cub Cylinders and have their own dyno. The web site is way out of date but good for contack info. Looney Tooners (Clicky) Quote
