23champ
If the dirt is moist at the starting line the wedges will hook twice as hard as paddles. That will give you the speed at mid track to let the tires keep hookin all the way to the finish line..
420_Big_Bore
Yeah at the start it is very moist as the water truck goes over it. But at the start of the day the start line is almost sloshy mud. Would the "snows" be able to get out of it or will they spin? And if i decided to get some 4-snows, what size tire and rim do u recommend as the best for drags? P.S Would anyone have a movie clip of a banshee dragging with Wedges or Snow's? 23champ
the lightest weight (.125) 8" wheel is best for drag
banshee tuner
The pro wedge or 4 snows do well on hard pack clay, and they help you with running a gear longer on top because they ballon up.
420_Big_Bore
So for medium-hard paked clay (at the start it is moist and loose), would you recommend 4-snows over sumthin like Razr II's or Kenda Dominators?
banshee tuner
The 4 snow is an awesome drag tire soft or hard surface, you can adjust your air pressure depending on traction. The razr type tires are great for trail riding and mx but not the best drag tire.
420_Big_Bore
Ah Ok What about the pro wedge II tire, i know there similar to the 4-snow but harder tread. Would these be my best choice as i have the chance of getting a set of the Pro Wedge II's.
23champ
do it!
420_Big_Bore
Thanks, i will. So these tires will definitely give me more traction than i have now with the Kenda Dominators?
banshee tuner
Yes these will give you more traction, run them backwards to where the tread is biting not cleaning and play with the air pressure. These are good for straight line running, keep your other tires for riding and sliding curves cause that is the advantage of the flat tires. da_man02
just jumped in on this. how much power is your bike making? if you got somewhere around a stock motor with pipes and just some minor bolt-ons you'll probably be better off running a radial tire like what comes stock on a raptor and the z400's. with the 4-snow's and pro wedges they grow at the other end and if you bike doesn't have enough power they will pull the motor down (bog). if you do have enough motor to run some different tires then 4snows or pro wedges are definately what you want to go with. look at different pictures of drag bikes on this forum and other forums and you will notice that they have these tires. hope this helps. 420_Big_Bore
No my bike is putting out enough power, thats why i am changing tires. I have a 420 big bore kit, 34mm carbs, stge II port job, GRR drag pipes, and alot of minor mods aswell. Thanks for your advice.
420_Big_Bore
Hi guys i have bought my pro wedge 2s, and now are ordering a set of rims. I have ordered some 8x8 red label douglas rims which are (.190). I know that ppl have been recommending (.125) but this is all i can get. Are the red labels ok, or bad. Thanks
