trail rider
Had the same problem, my swingarm bearings were eat up/non existant/ however you want to put for a while and I didnt know, it and the swimgarm was so loose it looked like it was held on by zip ties . I tried everything mentioned above and all, beat my brains ( and fingers off) with a hammer and finally came down to using the sawsall. I cut between the frame and swingarm on the shifter side. come out easy after that.
98bonerSTOCKshee
well after using the 8# hammer and busting the plastic stator cover just at the sprocket and cracking my case off just at the sprocket (thankfully just there) I couldn't swing no more... 2 days worth of torching and swinging.. Tried saw-all just flatted the teeth on my blade, went and got 5" cutoff wheel and couldn't get the sucker up in there good enoght to cut... Finally got new saws all blades and got er cut out... Freakin scarey, the saw had to be positioned just right so I wouldn't hit the engine case... Just waiting for a new bolt to come in.... Wicked98Shee
I'm in the same boat with the swinger bolt. It moves about 1/4" reallu easy but then it's like it hit's a brick wall. so my next option will be to cut the swinger out. we're gonna try to use a really small bottle jack to spread the frame and then use a hacksaw blade and a drill to spin the bolt and hopefully it'll drop out. just not wantin to eat on the powder coat with sawsall

Is there any way to prevent this, or do you just have to take the swingarm off every so often and grease it up to keep it from seizing? fastbanshee8
I coated my bolt with anti-seize, and put a grease zerk in the swinger. I've taken the bolt out 2 times in the last 3 years, with no problems.
endofitall9
I had the same problem when i got mine but i figured out thats its big time neanderthal to just go beat it with a hammer I soaked it up with some good degreaser and soaked it down with oven cleaner over night got a regular hammer and tapped it out the next day no problems since then........ 98bonerSTOCKshee
After getting the bolts and sleeve out I noticed that the bearing race on the nut side had become lodged in the swinger housing, was hard to tell until I went to install the new bearing and I thought the bearing was to big... Not having enough left on the outer race to beat it out I had to grind it.. I grinded it down in just one spot on the race after awhile once the metal is paper then you'll start to see where it grinds thru to the swinger housing try not to grind there anymore just move up alittle. you'll finally start to see a hair line crack and once you have it all the way across it will snap. Taking a small screwdriver you can pry it alway from the housing and it will come out.. you can see here where I barely grinded on the housing, cleaned it up somemore and it's ready! old vs. new Grease the bearing the housing everything.. the next time the pivot bearing goes out I am gonna need a new swingarm mine is starting to show stress with age and abuse!! ranceego
i had that happen, i tried to hammer the bolt out and it cracked the case. I cut the bolt out with a saw then had to crack the case to get it welded. that sucked.
