hell has officially frozen over, cause i 100% agree with meat.

 

first of all, 04 started bringing up old topics after someone mentioned a new thread possibly becomming one of the longest threads ever on the hq. he found and brought up the longest threads. kinda interesting to see which threads were the longest. once you started bitching he brought up random ones just to annoy you.

 

 

now, we all know lee doesnt come here all the time, that is why he has moderators, cause he doesnt have time to do it himself. so i doubt he knows of any of this going on. since i literally sat next to lee for a few years taking care of these forums, i know for a fact that is not the type of moderation he wants. just cause you are getting away with it doesnt mean its what he wants.

 

now lastly, and i cant believe im about to say this, meat is one of the first members ever here, and no one can deny what he has added to this site. i may bitch at him for his political views, but ive never, and will never, say he doesnt contribute or belong here or deserve to have an opinion here. for some ego driven kid on a power trip to speak down to him about his presence and contributions to this site is unacceptable.

Dude Meat has been here longer than anybody posting in this thread. And while he's been a member he has helped out countless amounts of people, including me. Just because his opinion differs from yours doesn't make him somebody that "RARELY" comes here to stir the pot.

That's not exactly what I meant. What I meant was people that insist on making useless post after useless post get called out. This is hardly the first time that old threads have been brought back to life. I can remember more than a few times that an older member will bring a thread back just to say, "remember this one?" or "can you believe this was 2 years ago?". IMO that's cool, it brings back some memories and recirculates some classic discussions for the newer members. But bringing back random ass threads and commenting on them as if they were still a real-time issue gets annoying after about the 5th time in a row. Again, if you have something to add to the thread that's fine, but just posting to say "wow" or something similar seems rather useless to me.

ppl with opinions are fine. i have no problem with that and ill sit here and listen to them all day..but i will mostdef argue with them if i think its stupid..the vast majority ofppl that have replied in this thread agree with me..this is not a dictatorship..ppl said they were annoyed with it so itook care of it..simple as that. whats so hard to understand about that?

Agreed. I cant believe that grown men are so worked up over bringin' up old posts. Think how crazy this is: Some dudes are sittin at the computer and reads one of these old threads and gets so annoyed, so bothered, so worked up over the "atrocity", that they take time out of their day to write the moderators that they are annoyed with of all these old post being brought up to the top.... plus nothing useful was added to the threads. OMG ITS THE END OF THE WORLD !! Just think about how silly this is.

 

And loco-man, I for one don't hate you. If my replies sounded high and mighty to you then im sorry, I didn't mean to come off like that. And for the record, 99% of the time you do a fine job moderating the forum. Don't get so worked up next time someone questions your moderating practices. Getting emotional doesn't solve anything.

 

Its just that the bansheehq never censored or deleted posts and that freedom is very refreshing for alot of us. For many years we never even had a moderator here besides Lee who would only drop by once in a while. If you delete harmless posts, your gonna get flak for it

its not the end of the world its just that some ppl dont wanna get on here, and scroll thru a bunch of old posts to find info..thats all..i tend to agree as do many others. and i absolutely do not have a problem with anyone bringin up an old posts, its just that i hope there is some good reason why they did. whether it was to add to it, or because they thought it was informative..04sheele was doin it to be a smartass, and while i can see being a smartass was his reason for doing it, its not a good enough one for some people. thats why me and my brother both got pm's about it..

its just that ive heard it so many times it gets annoying..if i wasnt a moderator idstill voice my opinion, i just wouldnt be able to do much about it. i dont dislike you, its just that most of the veteran HQer's tend to agree for the most part on issues like this. seemed strange to me that you didnt agree as well. but i do agree with you on freedom of speech and all that good stuff. i dont particularly like censorship either..i tend to not really do much around here other than move posts to appropriate threads..and prolly would not have done anything in this situation had i not had a few requests about it.
