tboicelli
Well about 3-4 weeks ago i orderd a set of pro-racer tierods so they would be delievered on a friday. that friday the package came but it was all riped open and the UPS guy marked it as damaged and kept it. when i talked to the guy who was handleing the order he said he would have to wait for UPS to do an investigation before he could refund me, so since i had to have the new tierods for that weekend i had him ship it to me next day saturday and i would pay for the new ones (he said it would take a week, or by the next friday to settle it all) so it ended up that ups takes forever to do their investigation. Now since it has been taking so long to get the money refunded my bank has been charging me overdrafts because of the missing money that should be in there, when i talked to the guy at alba i told him "one way or another you are goign to have to refund me so you might as well HELP me out so i dont get raped with over $120 in overdraft fees" he said that their policy is to wait for ups to refund them first then they will refund me, no if's and's or but's. so last friday the guy called me and left a message that usp is goign to refund them so he can refund me now. Today i still havent recieved any refund, havent heard from anyone about it or anything. i just called the sales man thats dealing with it and he said that ups hasnt sent them the check so they cant give me the money back, meanwhile i had to pay over $120 if fees from my bank. if i dont hear back soon about when it's going to be refunded i'm goign to call my bank and just say that it is a fradulent charge and that the compay doublecharged me and they arent giving me the money back. what do you guys think about this? I have been very loyal to alba for a couple of years now for basicaly everything for my shee except for oil and cleaner.
stclark816
I think that's enough right there to tell you to never buy anything from them again. Ive always heard bad things about Alba.
odaen
I dunno, I'm kind of mixed on this one. I feel for you, but I understand their point. We, as consumers, have demanded the lowest prices and have therefor agreed to get shitty customer service. 15 years ago, you would go to the local bike shop and pay a larger mark up on it, but not have to mess with the mail order problems or paying shipping. Alba sent the merchandise, so really, they did nothing wrong. You made the choice to pony up the $$ to have another sent out, and that's where you went wrong, since you didn't have the cash to sit on. Again, I feel for you. But if you put yourself in their shoes, I believe they performed as paid.
locogato11283
surely they cant be cheaper than rmatv...hopefully they get it taken care of...
tboicelli
basicaly what my feelings are is that they have to pay me back for the first set of parts, regaurdless of what ups does with their "investigation". they parts they were soposed to send were never delivered to the customer therefore the customer shouldnt have to pay for the mistake that them or UPS made, that is all their part of the deal. today if the guy calles me back ever i'm goign to give him a chance to regain their good name with me, i want the danon steering stabiliser which lists for $170~, if they help out the rest of the difference ($158.24 is what they owe me) then i think i might just have to stay loyal to them, otherwise they are OFF my list. so we'll see what happends, i'll keep you posted
locogato11283
why would u stay loyal to them?? do you think they care about you? if they cared about you theyd make it right regardless..not make up some lame ass excuse about ups..ifi get screwed around once, thats it im out..no more of that shit..there are way too many companies out here that sell parts..and i hate to tell you that they HAVE to be cheaper than alba..rocky mountain sells all kinds of shit..they are bottom dollar on pretty much everything. i have been buyin from them for at least 3 years now with NO incidents..oh wait, there was one. they sent me a warrior clutch one time instead of a banshee clutch..they overnighted one to me and just told me to send theres back when i got a chance..now thats service..i cant believe youd even consider fuckin with them afterthis..id bashthe fuck out of their name everywhere and let them deal with potential customer loss... kenr74
Alba lost their touch a long time ago. I ordered from them once and that was enough. You got yourself in trouble with your bank though so you can't really blame Alba. I can see why they would either want their product or money back before giving you a refund. Not saying that is right but that is big business. They don't need your $$ so they aren't going to do much for you. If you need something fast it is almost always better to go buy it locally and pay a little more than sit and wait for something to show up then hope it is right. Guest nightmare
I'm glad you posted this. I was always under the impression that Alba was a good place to deal with. Now I know not to mess with them.
tboicelli
ok well i have been talking with the parts maneger and he says he is sorry for the problem with ups etc. He actualy told me that UPS hasnt gotten back to them if it is Alba's fault or UPS's, meanwhile i talked to UPS and they said they faxed them the forms to get the refund over two weeks ago. he kept saying that he's sorry about the ups problem so I told him i have nothing to do with UPS, i am dealing with alba. so i was looking through their terms and conditions and i found something quite intresting "All refunds will require up to 10 days to process." ok now dont get me wrong here but dosent that say "up to 10 days" so i placed the order on 10/5/05 ups discovered it was damaged on 10/7/05. dosent that make it more than 10 days. so i called the maneger back today and told him about their terms and that if i dont get my money back by this friday i will have to go to the DA's office and finnish it. I think that got him off his ass to get this fixed NOW. I also snuck in there that they just lost my $380 that i took to JL instead of Alba. NO ONE EVER USE ALBA ACTION SPORTS, if there is a problem with anything they will do anything in their power to delay paying you back. Donoyfz450
overdraft fees? Man if your bank is that low then you shouldnt be buying ATV parts!! Ive delt with Alba a few times and only had one return,,,,They were very easy to deal with and the transactions all went smooth.
tboicelli
yea my bank normaly isnt that low it was just that time of month. i had all sorts of bills right after. if they would have held up to their terms and conditions and paid me back within 10 days then there wouldnt have been an issue. Yeah i have used alba alot through the last couple of years and i have never had any problems with anything, ive probly spent atleast $2500 with them from a factory frame and factory nuts and bolts to their sport-comp suspension. I bet that if this was just a return then it wouldnt have been a problem because they would only be dealing with me but since this was a UPS f-up they "lost track of my order" according to them. they basicaly were accusing me of getting the parts and claiming i never got them when the whole time UPS admited that their drive reported it as a damaged part and returned the package (empty) to them. My whole point in calling them a shitty company is that the whole time they had two options on their end, (1) it was UPS's fault and they would pay Alba for the lost parts then Alba would pay me back or (2) it was Albas fault for not packing them correctly and Alba would have to pay me back. So basicaly either way they had to pay me back reguardless of UPS's decision for what happend, if was Albas Shadyness to make me wait longer then their "up to 10 days" and still make me wait longer then 30 days to even tell me that they are going to pay me back. OCR
I agree w you, Alba should have taken care of this regardless if it was UPS or their fault... you had nothing to do with this and Alba should have sent you new product or a refund as soon as the UPS website said "Undeliverable due to damage". Wasnt your fault, Alba is too big to say they need to wait. Alba definetly dropped the ball on this one.
