slowpokebanshee
I have been looking at the trailtech stock replacement banshee lights, for stock stator, they claim 3 1/2 times light of stock, and they look way cool, I do not ride at night very often, but when I do the stock lights suck...and I can't justify HID lights just need a little more light than stock. are these for me? or do I need a rewound stator, w/50w or better? korndawg
I'm running these lights, and I love them. The difference between the trailtech lights and the stock lights is huge. Not only do the look great, but they are very bright. As far as the stator, you don't need to have it rewound. Just bolt them on, wire them into the stock wiring plug, set them where you want them, and go. As far as I'm concerned this is the best way to go on lighting, unless you want to get some massive baja light package.
slowpokebanshee
thanks for the info, just curious but do you still have the capability of low/high beam? or just off/on...?
Justintoxicated
they will just be on/off because MR16's don't have dual filiments and the reflector is not setup that way. However you wont need high and low beams! I like the 10deg spots myself they throw a nice large round circle of light in front of you. You can also gain 30% more light by switching to osram sylvania MR16 "IR" bulbs (mus tbe IR version). If you wind your stator and use the 55 watt version of the osram IR bulb, you would have equivalant light to a 70 watt MR16. the 35 watt version is about the same light as a typical 50 watt MR16. Different MR16 bulbs will give you different results I really prefer the Osram reflectors! Very nice smooth even coverage. Bansh88
Hell yes! Best mod ever. Something that ACTUALLY makes a huge noticeable difference. TheBansheeMan86
i have 2 questions: first, how much are these trailtech stock replacement lights (for stock stator) and second, the sylvania bulb you're talking about, could you tell me EXACTLY what the sylvania part number is for it? i work for Consolidated Electrical Distributors so i can get anything from sylvania but i need part numbers. Thanks.
korndawg
The cheapest I could find them was $112.99 from Rocky Mountain ATV. Trust me, it's money well spent. http://rockymountainatv.com/productDetail....88&navType=type I've got no clue what the part number on the replacement bulb is though. Justintoxicated
I only have the exact part number for the 50 watt version, but I'll bet the 35 watt version just has a 35 instead of a 50 I can look when I get home.
TheBansheeMan86
so justin, can the stock stator run the 50 watters or can it only push 35? i found this on sylvania's site http://ecom.mysylvania.com/sylvaniab2c/b2c/z_login.do i think the ones you are talking about are the 50MR16/NSP/RP(EXT) 12V part number 58629. it seems to only show 50 and 20 watt lamps, with one 35, but the 35 is a different base, plus i think its flood so its not a narrow beam. what would it take to be able to run 50s? just a higher output stator or what? i want to do this setup but not spend too much money on it. whats the cheapest way of going about getting more power (new stator, rewound, etc) thanks
