Gargamel
It looks good to me, as long as you take those HUGE heel guards off. I like that there are now efi bikes coming out. I hate jetting I can't wait to ride one now I got 2 choices when I get a secound bike
tats4life
the first one at the shop lasted 14 hrs on the floor...it doesn't seem faster than the yfz...i didn't get a chance to test the suspension, it squats real hard on excelleration, but so does the yfz. And the heel guards are HUGE
8buck
I wonder why no one else has gone with a 5 valve head like the YFZ, I would think that is the biggest peformance maker in that motor. If the suzi has a true 450 like the YFZ, I will bet the YFZ can still take it (power wise) for that reason. But, how nice would it be never to worry about jetting again and to be able to "mod" your motor with a laptop instead of wrench!

Even if its a bit more money to tinker with your bike, I'd love to never have to change a jet again. The only thing I don't like about tuning with a laptop is how many variables there can be. The HyperTech programmer available for my CBR600F4i apparently will allow you to adjust the fuel/air/timing curve every 1000rpm or so. So there is a chance to dial it in exact, but you have to have a dyno available or risk having an obscure lean spot or something in the middle of your power curve. The tunability is great, but the complexity could become overwhelming.
midnite
Ten years from now, people might talk about the good old days when you could simply change jets.
Gargamel
but a lot of ppl use a dyno to tune thier carbs for winter, summer, trips to diff areas, ect. how nice would it be to set it up like you want it then leave it. For the most part most wont ever touch the mapping
BigRed350x
I wonder why no one else has gone with a 5 valve head like the YFZ 431713 Oh maybe because they have these things called patents....
NYUK
wait till the aftermarket gets ahold of the injection set ups, it will be neat to see what powercommanders and such will do.

And none of this controlling the bike by thought horseshit. We had handle bars we had to hang on to.
8buck
Oh maybe because they have these things called patents.... 431762 Well, someone had to have been the first to release a 4 valve instead of 2 and now they all do it. If that was the case, then why not a 6 valve, or hell, a rotary (no valves)!

Back then it was cool to watch but now it's even more funny that we pasted that date. anyway... I think the mapping will be like on the street bikes where the program has some set curves so you can switch for riding style and terrian I bet the yfz450 will come with efi if this bike takes off. I hope so I like to see jetting be a thing of the past

I don't know much about them, other that with no rotating mass and springs to compress as in a standard valved engine, that should free up a few horsepower. A good example of how much a valve train can eat up is the Bugatti Veyron with the W-16 engine. From what I've read, the total calculated amount of energy in the air/fuel mixture coming in to the engine works out to be 3000 hp. 1000hp is soaked up just turning the valve train, 1000hp goes out as wasted heat, and the remaining 1000hp sees the drive train.
