dune_girl
A member of our riding group was killed at LS this Friday. Obviously I wasn't there so I don't know exactly what happened. According to the newspaper article, the incident happened around 1 pm on Friday. He was riding over a 65 foot high dune and apparently didnt know about the drop off on the other side. He flew off the banshee head first, suffering serious head trauma. That's all of the exact info that I have. Of course there are several stories flyiing around as to what happened. Apparently, there was an emergency medical technician who drove over to help him but couldnt revive him. Props to the med tech for trying. Darran was a great guy, and will be greatly missed!! Definately something that will stick in our mind when we ride the dunes from now on. Just thought I would share in case any of you had heard and was curious as to what happen. midnite
Hate to hear this kind of news. I wonder, was he wearing a helmet? There was a kid here who flew his banshee off into a 75 ft drop off which paralized from the neck down. He was running from the cops at night and out ran his headlights. I don't know which would be worse.

Justintoxicated
That really sucks, I think a 16 year old girl was killed at gordons last weekend too, a truck ran into her. They both swerved the same direction. I hate hearing stuff like this. I'm sorry. Much worse when it is someone you know. Was he wearing a helmit?
