I was having alot of problems starting my banshee at LS one year. After we got back one of my friends told me (not sure why he didn't tell me out there,LOL) that when he starts his he doesn't give it any gas.I really thought you had to give it a little gas when starting it,but I tried it and it worked. Not sure it's your problem, but it worked for mine.

I wonder also if your stator might be going bad? What's the timing set on?

Start with the easy stuff first. Check your plugs, gap on the plugs, gap on the stator, and then move to switching out the cdi and ignition coil. Then I would do a compression check and so on... .018 on the gaps by the way. Another gremlin is plug boots. Those things tend to start to seperate after a couple years.

Good luck!

What always works for me is don't give the banshee any gas, don't even touch the throttle, With the choke pulled all the way out and gas on, starts first try, even with low compression. When I first got it, I gave it gas like I always have with a dirt bike and never could start it, I guess try it. Good Luck

Having the same problem right now. I found a number of things on my quad. Now remember this was as it came from the guy I traded for it. The stock carbs' slides were switched so they were not working right. He had the the idle screw on one side all the way in and on the other side all the way out. It was missing the balancing tube between the 2 carbs. Yep it ran like shiz. Forget even trying to start it cold with kicking it. Fixed all that and it is much better but still wouldnt start.

80lbs of compression will do that though. Check your compression, it's an easy check.
