My Battery Conversion

Recommended Posts

Well I found a water proof 6 circuit plug for the Switches and also found the Flag Terminals aka right angle terminals.

Should have these parts by tuesday.

I made a mount for the LED circuit from a nice piece of aluminum and it came out great for my limited tools...

I also almost have finished fixing my webserver so Pics coming soon!

this stupid mount cost me $15 to make cause I had to buy a huge 3 foot piece of aluminum....OH well I guess, this project is nickle and diming me though! $25 for a water proof plug for the harness too! and the little flag connectors I will be getting are about $15-$20 also...or I can just buy like 12 for $12 at radioshack...figure I may as well curchase 100 for a little more $$

Action shot (looks much better IRL)

Blue LED's only

Stock Headlights (yea I wired them up also for the hell of it) and Red Taillight added.

It's hard to really capture what the paint really looks like, It's a MUCH deeper red and looks MUCH smoother than in the pic, sparkles a little in the sun, and looks metalic in color (like annodized) (dunno why I even bother posting this pic lol it loosk ALOT different)

lol, no the sticker is going under the LED sign that flashes "freakOFF" over and over. mounted to the whip.

I found a site that would have saved me about $70 they have a really nice catalog like rocky mountain. (1/2 as thick but nice color pics etc)

Strictly electrical...

They were cheaper than all the other places I went to..for example I ordered a plug for the radiator cover for $25, they had the same deal for $10, ordered my master switch for $7.50 they have it for $2.50...but I found it at wallmart for $5 lol (last place I would think to look for good switches). They also have snap in place cigarette lighters I thgouththat would be pretty funny on the banshee! Too bad I don't smoke...

Now to get those HIDS so I can ligh up like an X-mas tree.

Ya know I was just thinking that for all the money we've been putting into lighting we could have just gotten helmet mounted night vision and really upped the coolness factor. If the rangers chase ya, just kill the lights and let em try to find you while your riding away at 50mph! Hmm crap...anybody wanna buy some helmet mounted HID's?

What battery are you using and where did you mount it?

What did you do to mount it?

I'm going to do the same conversion and I'm curious.

Also, for some reason I cannot see your pictures. Are they

pulled off the site? Is there somewhere else I can go to

see them?

Are there any tips you think would help to make this an

easier project?

Also, are you running the stock flywheel or not?

And for whoever asked about running a capacitor; Trail Tech

stated that Banshees and Blasters should not run one in a

technical sheet somewhere on their site. I was thinking of

using one until I read that.

I ran out of webspace, so I deleted them :P I do have them on my computer someplace, while I work on setting up my own web server (waiting for some old computer parts). I actualy have a server running on my wireless at home I can see if I can post them up later, but it is likely the server may go up and down (since it's also my home computer lol)

I mounted the battery under the seat (protected and in the middle of the bike) but many people put them in the front. I'm using the 4 amp battery from trailtech but there are definately better batteries if you don't mind paying many times Trail Techs price. (I like the new mini Odyssey myself but it's like $150 lol )
