Tell a newbie about Banshees...

I have been riding dirt bikes for 15 years. Currently riding a late model yz250. My streetbike is a YZF-R1. Im a huge Yamaha fan, and a HUGE 2 stoke fan. For me theres no other choice besides a Banshee. I just havent been in the "quad scene" and need to brush up my knowledge before i procure one.

Thanks for all the info guys.

Good deal! You'll love the Banshee then, without a doubt. We all do! :D

Sounds like a banshee is the quad for you then. I've noticed that nobody has listed the negatives to the banshee so I'll do it.

The stock suspension is REALLY bad. We're talking cheap dealer stuff from the late 80's bad. You can fix this of course but its gonna cost quite a bit of money. Just make sure you get an A-arm banshee and not one of the old (87-91 i think) j-arm ones. There's also some slight differences in the older brakes, bearing carrier, and sprocket hub. When it comes to the suspension, your still gonna have limits as to how much you can improve it. If you think that you might wanna ride MX at some point, you're better off with a 250r. The Shee has poor frame geometry that causes problems once you start trying to go long travel. But for a super fun and fast ride the banshee is king.

Also something that might be considered a negative is that most engine related stuff is twice as expensive as other bikes due to the dual cylinder setup.

I am interested in procuring one of these this winter to play around on. I'm trying to crash a ton of research on them into a week or two's time so i can buy one (used). Trying to spend <$3k.

I've already been scouring google for info like good years, and differences between models, et cetera. Anything else i should be looking for in the used quad market?

Any help is appreciated. :)

Where are you located? My buddy is selling his, and it was BONE stock early last year. I did ALL of the work on it, it's nearly a new bike.

Just pipes, no airbox...Pod filters and the TORS removed. I'm in SE Michigan....interested?

This bike needs nothing but fresh gas and a visit to a car wash...and a rider.

A stock motor, piped and jetted banshee is a great starter bike....then the addiction begins.

He's looking for 2500 or best offer, clean/clear title.
