I just picked up my 2nd banshee frame and this one is going to be for drag racing in sand/dirt

Am i still wanting to get custom a-arms/shocks/extended axel like you do for say a mx shee? I do know i go longer in the swing-arm where you want shorter in mx and stuf.

This an issue I'm having problems with now.ALOT depends where you'll be racing at.If it's a smooth track, struts will be fine.If it's rough, you'll get beat to death.A set of drag shocks is what I want.Very light weight.Swingarm length and tires are a big decision.Probably need several sets of tires.Very expensive. Traction varies from place to place.JTM makes a very good swingarm extension.Still, some of the new swingarms are lighter, but not very light on the wallet.

I went with solid struts because I couldn't afford marvin shaws at the time...the struts are fine on asphalt and a well groomed dirt track but if you can afford it, go marvin shaw all the way. I'm changing my struts out as soon as I get the chance.

Your swingarm length will be determined mainly on two factors....how much HP you have and what type of terrain you'll be racing on.

talk to andy at grand river racing ,he makes about the best drag swingarm in just about any length you want..his prices are very hard to beat.as for tires ,i found turf tamers with every forth row cut out work great as do the otshu and dunlop radials but it depends alot on track.the radials are a great tire for almost any track.

if your going to drag dont get extended axle and a-arms jsut more weight then wut you need, og with dave moore racing on a arms and a swingarm, he makes the lighest componts that have seend and for a axle go with jj&a cheaper and lighter than lsr axles, as for shocks or struts , yea struts are lighter but marvins can come in handy if you dont have a wheelie bar and come up and let out of the throttle if you come down youll have shox but if you have strut ouch either the bike gets hurt or you will, so for teh extra money id go marvins for sure, and if you do run a wheelie bar dave moore can also hook u up on that http://www.davemooreracing.com/index.html
