race-a-holic Posted September 28, 2005 Report Share Posted September 28, 2005 I just got stopped by a cop.He was real nice about it.I had been working on the carbs on my wife's banshee.I was comparing her banshee to my friends.Racing down the street.I know,I shouldn't have been doing it,but we've never got complaints called before.We have however just got several new neighbors.What aggravates me the most the cop said Arkansas just passed a law saying kids 8 and under can't ride on quads with adults,and my daughter loves riding on the 4-wheeler with me or her mom.Maybe things will settle down in a few weeks.Lesson learned.Not everyone loves quads. My wife said she saw the guy she thought called the cops.He was riding his' Polaris Scrambler down the street.Ironic isn't it?Jealousy,what an ugly thing. Guess him not having a banshee make him mad. I do some tuning in my garage but I can see why neighbors would get pissed off with all the noise. If you aren't into ATV's that noise would probably drive you crazy. I know between my neighbors barking dogs and crappy loud music I've been tempted to call the cops but I know if I did the next time I started my bike I'd have a bunch of donut eaters in my driveway telling me to shut it off. PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted September 30, 2005 Report Share Posted September 30, 2005 You could go ask all your neighbors if it's ok that you ride it (maybe a certain time restriction like before 9:00 at night). Most people won't be an asshole to your face if you ask nice and politely. If they are then you will know who did it but I doubt they'll tell you you can't, asking usually makes people much more friendly. Then next time they call you in (if they do) tell the cops that you asked permission from all your neighbors and they said it would be ok and see what happens. This cute but seemingly naive girl at the gym was talking to me and a buddy of mine about snow mobiling since the season is approaching. My buddy kept hounding me to get a sled and go. I told him I hate snow. I haven't liked it since I was 8. He then starts saying "Oh yeah I forgot. You ride an ATV." And we start talking about that. She jumps in the conversation and says 'What kind of atv do you have?" I told her a Banshee, and she f**kin wrinkles her nose...and then says...."You need to get a...ah...a big green polaris. Thats what I ride." If she wasn't so hot I would have laughed my ass off at her right there. I still don't know if she was serious or not, but I kinda think she was. I didn't make this up I ran across it somewhere. Probably some stupid blog site or something. Anyway, guy sits on the top step of some stairs, and a girl kneels 2 steps down and gives him a hummbler. After he finishes on her chin he kicks her down the stairs. I have no idea where I found it, but the person called it a Mexican War Hero and I have no idea why I find it so f**kin amuzing.
