Justintoxicated
ok I been looking at all kinds of shocks and just figured I'd post to get some more feedback. I need alot of adjustment.... So I'm looking at Elka Elites or Works Pro G Series 4. I think works has stepped up their quality a bit this time around... I believe the elites have better springs and the Works have better technology.. http://www.worksperformance.com/html/atv.html I found this quote on another forum...And the Pro Series is a step above the widows.. "just for some info for people that might not know. works pro series are made with the same shafts and valving as elka's. the only thing that i could think would be different is the springs and the sticker on the rezzie. works is probably the smartest shock company out there. i bet they have made more money off the steelers than any other shock company has off one shock. my assumption on the black widows would have to be that they are going to be one hell of a shock to beat. but i might be wrong. " Anyne running these they are about the same price as the elkas... I believe both are Dual Rate shocks for the banshee. Banchetta
Ok worthless post. I was not sure what to get so I just went with Elka Elites... setup for 200 lbs, Expert rider, Dune Valving. 420422[/snapback] Don't do it..I haven't been impressed by a set of Elkas yet...especially if your buying a fully adjustable shock. Thats a lot of money. I got my Ohlins for 1400.00 for all 3. Might as well get Axis or Ohlins....you were there when Rod and I was through the 3' whoops at the top of 6th gear at Glamis werent you?? I know you showed up later in the week...The only other person that stayed w/ us all week was Jon w/ the 370R w/ axis and that crazy bastard w/ the Bombadier650 w/ custom shocks.... Justintoxicated
Too late I already ordered them... Wish I would have found out sooner. I think the wait time for the ohlins is like 2 montsh or somethign right now anyways...I do hear Elka makes a superior shock body and some guys later take them to get ohlins valving...then you have the best of both worlds. I didn't pay 1400 for the shocks. I have heard many people are impressed with properly valved and properly set up elites. What problems did you have with them? Did you the the Dune Valving or MX valving on your elites? Were they setup for your weight and what style riding ? I ordered mine as follows Weight 200 lbs, Skill Expert, Dune Valving, +2 arms, Piggybacks. I weigh 190 and due to selecting skill level expert and not intermediate I expect them to be a bit stuff. Even though they are set up for x-country, etc. they still haven't bottomed out w/ 8' jumps at slow speeds. The problems I've found w/ other setups using elkas is that they didn't feel any different then my old setup (works steelers fronts and stock rear). They are a nice looking shock for sure, but as you know, I'm not about the bling...hehe

locogato11283
i run elkas on my banshee, and elkas allthe way around on my craptor, and my bro has them all around on his banshee. we have no complaints about them..mine ride great and soak up anything i throw at them...i think youll be happy with them when you get them...most people will neverk now the differences between ohlins, elkas, and axis unless you are pounding a mx track all the time... Sure I can check tem out, hell if need be I'll swap the elites to ohlins valving, I hear it is similar to TCS valving. But I have heard from alot of people that say the elites are very good already. Have you tried elites or just dune series? Mine came out to $1150 cause I got a good deal, I think ohlins would have been a couple hundred more + $100 for the billet clamps for rezzies. I'm tired of botteming out my fronts when getting good air, I'm sick of using my bidy for a shock!
