NOSS HEAD HELP

My girl is ordering a Noss head. Im running mainly at 1300-1500 feet asl. I got DMC 916's coming too, in addition to advanced timing (+4), boysen power reeds and spacers, wiseco pistons, and a K&n filter in a ported airbox...

I told her to order 20cc domes with it. Im pretty sure, but can i run it with pump gas at that altitude? Just wanna find out before I get them and put them in.

THANKS! :bolt:

Best person to tell you that is dlnoss, the guy you'd be ordering it from....when she orders it, just tell her to ask him what he recommends, he knows his heads better than any of us!

You are probably okay at that elevation with premium pump gas and 20cc domes. I'd check compression and make sure it is 155 psi or less with the timing advance. If not, I do swap out new domes for the cost of shipping.

Oh yeah? Cool, good to know. You should hear from her soon, if not already. I asked for the black anondized, heading to NY.

So just for future refernce, should my compression go over155psi, switch to race fuel?

With +4 timing I would...At least to 100 octane just to be totally safe.

A lot of people say to run a 50/50 mix for 160 / 165psi but I'd just go ahead and run straight race fuel anyhow, less hassle :shrugani:

Stock cc heads are 22. He is only going to a 21cc head.

Plus...he's at 1300 to 1500 feet...lowing the squeeze just a tad.

Compression has more to do with the need for higher octane than timing does, unless you're going like +8 or higher.

You're not even sure what your compression is going to be yet...only theoretical numbers.

I'd get it together, warm it up....hold the throttle wide open and check the compression.

Over 155PSI...mix race gas at 50/50 the most. I have a feeling you're going to be at or around 150 or a little less.

I'd stop worrying about what your compression **might be** until you get it together and find out **what the actual number** is...

Best of luck!!
