well first off u shouldnt have to clean the carbs everytime u try to start it. The pilots are gummin up?? thats weird.... what pre-mix are u runnin?? U might be a little rich.... I never have to clean my tank or my carb, i just do on the occasion that i have it off. Sounds like its flooded with oil to me but i could be wrong... it wouldnt be the first time... just my opinion.... MEADOWS<<<CWB>>>

40;1 klotz 93 octane, 260 main 25 pilots needle one clip down plugs look perfect no bogs no hesitation. for some reson you take the carbs off blow out the pilots put them on it will start up no problem. get done riding it let it sit for about an hour and it wont start you have to take the carbs off and sure enough pilots are clogged i dont get it figuring maybe dirty tank, i just got a new set of stock carbs for it the olds threads are gone but i never had probs like this with them any ideas solutions?

That seems a little rich on the mix.. Klotz is thick oil anyways. i use to run it but now i run YAMALUBE 2-R Racing oil and i love it, but i run 32:1 maybe a lil leaner. 40:1 sounds very heavy especially with Klotz. The pilots bein gummed up thats kinda weird though. I've never ran into this problem before nor have i ever heard of it until now. Hope u get it fixed. MEADOWS. <<<CWB>>>

If you want to clean the tank, just use gasoline or Throttle body cleaner. The TB cleaner will be much nicer to the plastic tank than carb cleaner would be.

Take a dowel rod or long handled screw driver and tape a sock to the end of it. Spray some TB cleaner (or gas) in the tank and use the rag (thru the filler opening) to wipe down as much of the inside as you can. I also suggest pulling the petcock of and making sure that the screen is still there and clean.
