kylechs04 Posted September 8, 2005 Report Share Posted September 8, 2005 Ok here goes. My buddy got a stock YFZ450 few months ago. He totaled it pretty much and was MIA for a few months. Came by today and hes got chromoly +2 a arms, Full exhaust(cant remember what kind) and some sweet ass Edelbrock carb. I think thats all. BUt this thing is faaaaaaaaast. Pulls wheelies through all gears like nothing. I think im going to part out my 87 which doesnt run and put all the cash into my 97 I was just wondering what i should do to my shee next? So far it has 2into1 filter T'5's and +4 swinger. I think im going to get some a-arms and possibly yfz shocks but what should i do to speed me up a little....? im pretty stummped ? Mill your stock head .030 Mod your stator plate to advance your timing 4 degree Have your stock carbs bored out to 27mm Clean up the intake track with your diegrider or do a Spots port by Race Logic. About $85 for the kit Spendy mods Buy V-Force 3s, about $220 Buy a any of the cool head type heads, with some 20cc domes Buy a " Ricky Stator" stator plate, $35 not to high really. I have an 02 shee with pc full exhaust, jetted, filtered, no air box lid, boost bottle, etc.... mainly what everybody has done in the line of relatively cheap mods and it will put up a great run against an 04' 450 with a reasonable amount of modding done. Just find better ways of putting the power to the ground, better tires for better hookup for example, or maybe simple mods like going up one on the front sprocket and advance the timing a little, you won't need much and you'll be pleasantly surprised.
