The 2's have a problem with the screws backing out, without a doubt! I had the same problem with mine, finally threw them out and bought a new set. LATER I found out that Moto Tassini will warranty those 2's! Major bummer, I had pissed away $200. If nothing else, you can warranty them and sell 'em on ebay, then go buy a set of 3's.

I've had mine since 02'.Changed out the reed petals twice and never had a problem with screws coming loose or breaking reed petals.

Were you running spacers?Did you set the reed tension on low?Did you clean the cages before you reassembled them(loctite will not set if theres oil or fuel film present.)Could be installer error.

Damn, that's a raw deal....how could you know they were junk and still sell them to a fellow HQ'R? That's fucked up!!!! wesw will get what he deserves; if that is the case.

I just installed some V-2's and haven't had an issue "yet". I did put loctite on them and they cured for at least a few days before I even fired it up.

Hey, badassbanshee479...if you don't mind me asking, how did the reeds messing up cause 750 bucks worth of damage to your jugs?

its gonna cost me 750 cause I have to have my cubs sent out to be stripped and replated, which I found out you have to do both sides not just one, I then have to buy new pistions, a new dome for my noss head, gaskets, and shipping to and from.

I was running reed spacers in front of the cages so the reeds were out of the turbulance, I had the tension set on high, and I made sure the cages were clean before using loctite on them.

I could understand installer error on one pedel but for three two break one right after another I would have to say the cages were bad!!

sounds to me like them things, :whoa:  v force reeds :flush:  are high dollar pieces of crap. run boyesons. never broke any of mine.besides how can you justify 2 or 3 hundred dollars for reeds <_<

Because they work REALLY good. If you ran Boysen then V-Force, you'd know why we use them despite the cost. And only a very small minority of us has had problems, like 5%; most times they run forever in any circumstance. For my part, I had them installed wrong, on the front side of the spacers. Found out thru testing that the spacers are unnecessary for my application anyway and pitched 'em.

Atleast he suggested the red loctite.

THE REST OF THE STORY

I'd be pissed like you wouldn't believe.

ok when i sold them to him i told him there was one good block, the other needed replacement reeds cause the screw that held the 2 triangle blocks had vibrated loose. i told him if he wanted them, i would use blue or red loctite on it.

i told him the details of them. and he still wanted them.

if they were installed correctly, the blocks fit into a piece that is designed to keep all the stuff together and protect it.

i told him upfront they needed some stuff for them to work. he still wanted them.

i sorry, they damaged your stuff. but you pulled the tension bar screws out, which i didnt. and didnt install them correctly i would guess.
