thecabinboy Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 Went for the first ride after install. Works great easy to adjust. Started out it was 80 deg and had 143 main as directions stated (10 sizes down, was a 160) and 1 full turn out. Seemed to have a lil' bog on the top so I turned it in 1/4 turn (each quarter turn is about one main jet size) fixed it right up. Later when it warmed up some more outside about 93ish deg I just tightened it up a 1/4 turn and was as zippy as ever. Quote
hittintrees srh Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 Word. I got the same power valves on my Lectrons. Cant beat how easy they are to adjust. While everyone else is sittin in the sand playin with there dicks trying to figger out what jets to use, all we gotta do is turn a couple of screws. And thats it. Quote
iceman Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 sounds helpful. where did you get that? Quote
ReDEyE Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 (edited) I need one of these. Its annoying to take the carbs on and off to get everything just right Which brand did you try?? Edited September 5, 2005 by ReDEyE Quote
thecabinboy Posted September 5, 2005 Author Report Posted September 5, 2005 This Person is a Great Ebay Seller!!! Ebay Link THIS AUCTION IS FOR ONE POWERJET, FOR A BANSHEE YOU NEED TWO. To get a pair I will sell them each at the winning bid (so winning bid X 2 = cost for pair) and I'll combine shipping. Up for auction here is an externally adjustable powerjet. THEY MAKE JETTING SIMPLE and MUCH EASIER. They work like an adjustable main jet, and they are adjustable from the outside of your carb! You have seen these installed on bikes at the races, and now you can win some here for a lot less than the "big name" shops sell them for. Most shops charge around $50 per jet. Your jetting needs to be adjusted (especially you guys with a lot of mods) to variations in riding altitude, humidity, and air temperature. These externally adjustable power jets mount to the bell of your carb (see the pic for an example, those carbs are not included.) They work to supplement your main jet circuit allowing you to make adjustments to your jetting by just turning the knob at the top of the powerjet. This makes life very easy for those of us who want to make adjustments quickly. Most alky carbs use these because they use more fuel than regular gas carbs, but remember these are a GREAT ADDITION to GAS CARBS as well. Buy these Power Jets and you can sell all your spare main jets to make up the cost... it's easy! They are easy to install, and they come with instructions. To see an example of the install procedure go to http://216.194.105.243/powerjets.htm You can email me with any questions. This is a no reserve auction so bid up! Shipping is $6.95 to the continental US. I will ship almost anywhere, but ask me first if you do not live in the US. I have quite a few sets of these so if you need more than one set let me know. Email at: pwhite@uofu.net Quote
powerjet Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 Hi guys, I am the person who sells them. Let me know if you want some and I'll hook you up. Probably easiest to email me directly. pwhite@uofu.net Quote
Banshee0028 Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 These sound interesting...Anyone else try them? Quote
snowprophet1 Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 I use them. I bought them from the same person, and he is very good to deal with. When I switched my stock carbs to alky, I saved a ton of time while watching my egts and adjusting the powerjets. You want to try and keep your placement of the jets and hose lenghts as identical as possible. I started out w/them both opened up all the way, and turned them 1/2 to a full turn in after every 1/4 mile run. They did not run the exact same egts/per same amount of turns from side to side, but when you drill your own mains for alky, that throws another variable in for a chance of error. Once I matched the cylinders egts, and got the temps up, the times got better and better. A real time saver for tuners and tinkerers that know how to read the plugs or have egts to get the best out of their motors. I cleaned up the drilled areas and put a little JB weld around the fittings to make sure they wouldn't move or suck air, and I have not had any problems. A good investment for anyone who does any motor mods. Quote
thecabinboy Posted September 13, 2005 Author Report Posted September 13, 2005 Those were the pics from the ad, these are mine I milled a bit off the blank idle screw and JB welded it in. Quote
