AllMotor347
Hey guys, im just sittin in my dorm room contemplating mods for my banshee, I think next im gonna jump into the suspension, and I am wondering if a 4+ swinger is to much for trail riding, I also ride on a lake in the winter though and I wanna give some snowmobiles a hard time. Thanks for the help
Hadar
I was wondering that myself, I like the way a +4 looks. But I don't know how it handels. I put a +2 on my Tecate and it raely keeps the front end down. also, it didn't effect the steering too much.
chase@miamiatv.com
i saw this thread and i had the same post awhile back before when i was building my drag bike . heres my 2 cents any lengthing of a bike will change the way it handles , im +8 and you can kiss drifting good bye . HOWEVER u can say hello to massive maaaaasssssiiiiiiveee launches without any part of the front lifting up . it all depends on ure mod's if your semi stock( pipes jets carbs etc ) go with a 4 , but if u are runnin a bigger piston / porting / heads / etc etc go with a 6 and youll be sure to give the snowmobilles hell ...... theres nothin like spinnin the tires on ashpalt and launching . i got my swinger off ebay for 300 shipped ( chrome ) and if you want i can get you the guys contact . very very quality product the guy makes . heres a pic of my + 8 and it doesnt handle on turns too fassst but once you get the bitch moving it rides like a dream very smooth . bansheeryder_69
I ride my banshee with the stock length swingarm, I can launch hard and as long as I stay on the front and up on the handlebars with my weight I can spin the tires on pavement. but whatever floats your boat
Hadar
For trails, I probably would not go with more than a +2 or +3(which might be pushing it). If you do get a +4 let us know how it works for ya.

helldriver
well heres my 4 cents,{inflation ya know} i got a +2 swingarm on my shee, and the motor has vitos 404 big bore kit in it,, and i ride the shee in mostly sand pits and do trail riding,, and it is fine for trail riding,,, it turns good, and handles better than stock {i think anyways} but i would NOT go over + 2 if your gonna be riding trails i wanted a good balance for sand wall climbing and trail riding, and i think i have found it Edited September 23, 2005 by helldriver

helldriver
well i dont know about you, but if your riding on snow or ice, than +anything is no good, ever see ice racers? they use minus 3-4 inch swingarms,, the longer you go, the more traction you lose Edited September 23, 2005 by helldriver
Guest blew duece
+4 or +6 is a joke on a trail unless of course you just putt down them, anyone with a stock or -2 would leave you in the dust, and the more ponies you have the more that sled would just spin in the dirt..........
