cheap power mods

Hey, I'm just wondering, I've been reading up on things like porting your reed cages, boring the carbs to a larger diameter, lightening your flywheel, and doing a timing advance by yourself. Most of these things can be done for relatively cheap by yourself or at a machine shop, but do they really make a difference? Usually hp means $$$ but if you can get some for free why not take it?

There are a few ways to gain some ponies without having to spend all your pennies.

One way is to buy an adjustable timming plate from "ricky stator". There only like $35, and they make a bigger differance than you mite think

Or you can get your flywheel lightend, thats usually around $100. Makes for faster revs. Thats always good!

Ive heard getting your carbs bored does'nt make much of a differance, though thats just what ive heard. Not sure how much it costs though.

Do you have aftermarket pipes? They cost some money, but make the most noticable difference. Take the airbox lid off, mill the head, advance the timing, and find a used k&n with outerwear. I have some black toomey T-4s I'll sell you for 50 if you still have stock pipes. Good luck with it.

Sorry dude, I already have aftermarket pipes, procircuit platinums with r304s, I also have it jetted, boost bottle, filter, etc.... I got most of the cheaper bases covered already see, so I'm wondering if theres anything I can get for the shee now that doesn't involve purchasing new heads or porting or anything like that, maybe a new set of reeds and advanced timing/lightened flywheel will make a difference
