First off...first post..hello bansheeHQ nice to meet you all..

second.. didnt no where to post this..so i put it in here..

and here we go..

Today as i'm riding down the street, i slip and downshift without hitting the clutch, and i notice how smooth it was..so then i stop, put it in first...and slowly start to take off. i shift into second slowly , then on to 3rd and 4th and so on. all wiht out the clutch. everything upshifted and downshifted smoothly. I even try it out wiht differnt rev's to see waht happens and i get teh same results....i have heard of matching the revs up to shift without clutch ..but i dont think i was doing that perfect first try...

any suggestions

Shift it like there's no tommorrow and don't worry about it. The gears in a Banshee tranny are in constant mesh, so you can't mess the teeth up. Worst case scenario you can only break the ears on the sides of the gears, they are pretty tough though, I've done unspeakable things to my Banshee tranny for years and its still going. I figure if I eventually blow it parts are cheap. Shift it however you like and don't worry about it. That's my opinion.

well,i use to shift without the clutch alot when did mx,and kept doing it when i rode theunes, when my tranny blew myengine builder said"you don't use the clutch in 2-4 gear do you"i said not much.then he told me there's your blown tranny problem,it trashed 2nd and 3rd gear 2 shift forks and 1 shift shaft, now this all happened over time of about 2 years, but it did happen.it's not cheap beleive me.:evil:

I haven't used the clutch much since 1998 when I bought it new. I just let off the gas a bit to take the pressure off of the drive dogs on the gears. Shifts great!!

If I need to "speed" shift, say for racing, I just won't let off the gas, and I'll use the clutch then.

Yank it in as I'm shifting and then dump it with the throttle wfo.

I do the same exact thing!

As long as you let off the gas a little when you shift (or just pull the clutch in a little bit) you'll be fine. Whenever I race I never let off the gas though, I just pull the clutch in enough to disengage, shift, and let the clutch back out all in one motion...helps keep the RPM's up too

Welcome to the forums!!!!!! :headbang:
