odaen
Well, I don't think there's a single solution to everyone's riding needs. People give their opinions on what to run because they ahve good experiences with them. You say that a 9 or 10 paddle would be too much, and that the 4 strokes would catch them half way up the hill, but one of the biggest racing hills here in Florence (comp hill for the locals), you're looking at being in 3rd gear at the top, unless you have a port job or a 4mm. There, it's important to hook right the hell up, because the 450's are damn hard to beat off the line. I miss the hell out of being able to pitch the bike sideways and throw a nice roost, cause if I tried that with my 21" 10 paddles, it just pulls the front off the ground, but I wouldn't trade them for anything, because it drags very nice for what it is. Buy the 8 paddles like this guy says, and I'll show you where they will suck. By the 10 paddle 22" extremes and I'll show you where they suck. So, call me dumb for "overpaddling" my banshee. It does exactly what I want it to.

rjvoight
Yeah it seems like most banshee owners haven't grasped that the banshee does better when you let its tires spin up. They figure that a 450 can pull 10 paddles, so they totally could since they're faster. When in truth you end up robbing the engine of power. 4 strokes have that ability to lug, the banshee needs fewer paddles to spin up. On a stock stroke, you never need more than 9 paddles, 8's on extremes. Match up 2 equal riders/banshees and the 10 paddle might take it off the line but the guy running 8 paddles will blow by him halfway up the hill. 429871[/snapback] Exactly
