dajogejr
No. Stock carbs have air screws...the fuel/air mixture screw is behind the venturi. That being said, turning it out leans out the idle circuit to just off idle.
bobbybonilla
OK I got the pipes on tonite, along with a aluminum carrier also, and new chain, and Upp chain slider kit, I didnt get done until around 8pm and then it started pouring, so I took to the streets. My setup was 330 mains 27.5 pilots First impression, was from 0 to 1/4 throttle was what I expected from more top range pipe compared to my old Gnarlies, then 1/4 to 3/4 was just a tad rich, like it just a bit too boggy before powerband, but pretty close, then top end seems way to rich. From 3/4 to WOT, doesnt seem much difference, you can notice by sound, and speed increases, but you dont feel it pull very hard, like it slowly climbs in speed. These Pipes are GI-NORMOUS, I didnt realize how large they were until I compared them with my buddies T-5's. I measure temps, and after running pretty hard the pipes right around my legs are at about 90 to 100 degrees, right at the coolhead where the coolant exit hose is, it is about 160 to 180. Before it was so easy to read temps with my Raytek laser temp gun, now the Rockets are so big, I cant even get a good shot of the coolheads, also you gotta watch those fingers flipping off the fuel shut off valve. I am gonna ride it some more tomorrow, in the daylight, and get a better feel, and go from there. Fireman-hott
Get that jetting in check and run some bigger carbs. Rockets flow like a motherfucker more than any other pipe I do believe. They were designed around a 39-40mm dual carb setup also hence the massive amounts of air they push. You get that jetting dialed in you will notice a big difference especially with how little bog there is, and just wait till you port the jugs holy shit you'll piss yourself guaranteed. Ducman
I ran 310's with the same mods except with a foam filter and was slightly rich so they should be abpout right for you. Sounds like you got her pretty close and are going in the right direction. The #1 thing you will notice is how much higher they rev and how much better you can pull 5th and 6th gear at least I did going from Gnarlies to Rockets. I love them though All I hear from buddies that I ride with that used to have banshees, is LRD's the ones that are adjustable are the best. This and that, just because theyve never heard of the rockets. I have no problem with torque as of yet. We went climbing alot, and I was pullin all the same tight technical hills, as the yfz 450's and 400ex's 450rs, without fanning/feathering the clutch one time. And at the same time they cant figure out how once we get on the highway, I am pulling mine up in 6th gear with no clutch next to them when they are at top speed, and there 4 strokes are all outta revs.

Fireman-hott
Yeah hell I ran a vforce 700 (who was revved out) and passed him in 4th gear with 2 more gears to go. Fun pulling that, amazes those 450's doesnt it. Its the best feeling in the world when they ask how the hell your doing that. I love every minute of it.
