rebelbanshee2
No.I just purchased a Kel-Tec 16UB. They hold AR/M16 magazines. Mini 13/14 (whatever) and Mini 30s are legal for purchase as well. You can still "own" all kinds of stuff. Purchasing is what's really restrictive. the Kel-Tec loophole is weird but I jumped on that wagon FAST! 402911 you are right. There is an "evil features list" for detachable mags guns. guns like mini14s, kel tecs have none of the features so they are good to go....for now You can only own "assult rifles" if they have been registered prior to the ban. Good thing we have the 2nd ammendment to protect our gun rights
The Rebel
And why exactly do you need an assault rifle? 402881 Why, to accessorize the shee, of course. The Rebel's new sig. : " '92 Shee. 2 full auto AKs with 100 rd drums forward mounted for MX use. One AR converted to Beowulf .50 center mounted ( handlebar mount) for those long desert straights when at Baja. 406 cc's. Bored and stroked, ported and polished. Yeah, polished, with 100% cotton, picked by yo mamma." Man, I would think twice about building that AK kit. You would end up with a lot of dough tied up in it and the reciever, plus all the US parts that you have to have to complete it. Just buy a Romanian AK and be done with it. Or a nice Mini 14. Anyway, rock on, at least you have the guts to get a peice of freedom while you can. rebelbanshee , what is the 2nd amendment?
Bansh88
That's the thing. I cannot buy an AK here. If i am able to buy the parts, I could put one together for under $300.
redcell43
i think theres a loop hole that if you purchase the gun out of state and bring it in all you have to do is reregister it with you local police office. (i would check this out) find out when the next big AZ or NV gun show is drive 6 hours to the show buy all the guns you want. take them back. and reregister them. im not saying thats the best way to do it but i think that is one way to do it. redcell43
I think I figured out what is need and how to get what. Anyone know how interchangeable AK parts are? Will any AK reciever fita any AK body? 402895 no Not all AK-47 parst are interchangeable. You have diffrent make Mak-90. then you have make by diffrent countries. By my standards all AK-47's are great weapons easy to maintain and will last forever if properly cared for. i have 2 hungarian made ak's. they are great for target pratice ammo pretty cheap now with american ammo makers picking up the 7.62x39 round. BigRed350x
I have a norinco (chinese) AK-47 with the 22" competition barel. I love it. I have literally dropped that thing into a muddy river, picked it up and fired off 40 rounds without cleaning it. If you take care of them and fire good ammo, they are pretty much impossible to jam. I will take an AK over any AR or M-16 any day. Besides, they fire a bigger round. Mmmmm.....
The Rebel
That's the thing. I cannot buy an AK here. If i am able to buy the parts, I could put one together for under $300. 403080 It would have to be the butthole stock , single stack( Commifornia) version I reckon. What about the Mini 14? You couldn't build an AK for what a mini 14 cost. Not a milled reciever AK anyway. A stamped reciever is cheap and so are the kits. The kits are under a c note and the recievers are less than $60.00. Then you pay for an FFL dealer to do the transfer. Then you need 5 -7 US made parts to replace the ones in the kit. That could be the fire control group, the gas piston, the furniture, the barrel, the bolt and carrier(not likely), floorplates or followers in the mags, etc... Then you might not even be able to own one that accepts double stack mags( liberal ass left wing commies suck) .I know you will have to have a butthole stock on it to take away the EVIL pistol grip. Then you would need tht tools to build it with unless you have a conection on that. Headspace gauges are a minimum . The rest is pretty archaic, just look at an Egyptian Maddi. Those things are built with a hammer and chisel, but still are some of the best shooting( not saying accuracy wise) weapons around. I can tell you want one bad. Hope you are able to get one and take the responsibilty to own one and shoot prolific with it. You never know when you'll need it. I like that nice scattergun of rebelbanshee's

The Rebel
I heard scatter guns make nice home defense guns. 403421 Much better than a rifle. Rifles are for keeping the enemy at a distance, 300m is a good distance. IMHO
