MonkeyBoy
I guess I'll be the one to ask... Why? There's really no need, and it would just add weight.
sanddragon2004
Actually it works really well. Its called R&D! a stock shock, with linkage weights alot more then 2 fox air shocks FYI. 4lbs per shock. Cotton eyed Joe
I've seen that done with Marvin Comps, except they were side by side. I thought about going that route on mine so I could have lower pressures in each shock since I'm going no link, but after talking with the guys at Marvin Shaw, they suggested going a single Comp with a coilover. How much does each one of those shocks weigh that you have there?
sanddragon2004
heres the whole chassis, built to hold a turbo NOS injected EFI hyabusa motor.
racer
why not run a bypass and a coil carrier? itd be a lil heavier, but the adjustability of those things is insane. i believe if i was going to all that trouble id call up King and get a triple tube on the way. no matter how much i look at tube framed objects, the craftsmanship always amazes me. nice work! sanddragon2004
Roger truly is a genuis, He has over 80hrs in that chassis, it is all hand made. and all one off custom design. the side of this chassis removes to allow the engine to slide in and out. He is truly a wizard fabricator. FYI, he is also the one who designed the Studded heim joints. "patent pending"

racer
How much does each one of those shocks weigh that you have there? 402294 4 pounds each.
Cotton eyed Joe
4 pounds each. 402376 Thats how much the rear Marvin Comp with a coil over weighs. Not too bad.
MonkeyBoy
Yup, you could just use the one shock. You don't wnat to compare a link to that no link, that's apples and oranges. What could two shocks do that one can't?
sanddragon2004
well the idea is a variable rate, having too different rates. Not saying its the direction we are going, or that its the way to go, its just something different. It may not be for everyone. But until you try something out, you will never know if it is something that will fly. Those of you that have seen it pound through the woops at sand mnt at 95+ mph know how well it works. Again just a different approach to suspension being tinkered with.
MonkeyBoy
Just sounds like you are overcomplicating the matter. One well tuned shock could do that. But keep it up, that's how we learn. Edited August 8, 2005 by MonkeyBoy
