05bansh Posted August 9, 2005 Report Posted August 9, 2005 Thats why I run nothing but Amsoil in all of my bikes an vehicles. Simply the best imo. I mean its only your engine were talking about......... Quote
Mxzdan Posted August 9, 2005 Report Posted August 9, 2005 I run yamalube 2r that cost 11$ a liter at 32 to 1 is that good oil comes out of the pipes but that's what the dealer said to run it at so im starting to wonder Quote
rocketboy Posted August 9, 2005 Report Posted August 9, 2005 sit down and do the math and youll soon realize it is actually cheaper to run the good shit than it is to run the gummy walmart shit oil. at high ratios you need very little oil and it runs so much better on thin synthetic oil than that 32-1 smokey yamalube or sams choice oil .those oils load up your piston crowns really bad especially cast stock pistons wit h their rough coarse textured tops, and we all have seen fucked up pitted head domes fro m carbon deposits on stock pistons ! a 30$ gallon of the good stuff will last you all riding season, isnt that worth your expensive engine and time ? not to mention the added power potential of running high quality synthetics????? reded Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 You're not convincing me. When I bought my Banshee it was 2 yrs old and the guy said he'd always ran Yamalube in it since day one. I rode it for another year using Yamalube. When I did decide to tear it down, I found hardly any carbon on top of the pistons and the bores still looked new. I couldn't believe it. The thing looked like it had maybe 5 hrs on it. To make it simple, the math you did on the Yamalube didnt add up for me. Looks to me like it protects fairly well. And as for the smoke comment, the only time I'd be worried about a little smoke is if I were riding a four stroke. Quote
