Building a street shee.

I just found out that they closed our places to ride now , They're doing a real crack down now and its depressing to see it all come down. I also just found out that the people that used to go to the trails are now drag racing in these long narrow road strips. It is about is about a 15 min drive away from me and is in no disturbance of other people. So, the question is, What would you guys do to make a street kinda, drag shee? I'm talking about a shee that is a really good drag bike but that I could take to sand, and clay hills (croom). Thats the thing, I don't want the bike totally lowered and having only one sole purpose. $$$ is a factor, (about 2-3 g's). So, if you would, name the mods you would do to the shee and name the brands you would do it from, please be specific and please, ANY COMMENTS are welcomed. Thanks

get some pipes that rev out real nice, I would try some cut t3's personally. I would get a dune/play or an agressive dune port (dependign on your riding style) to go along with it, talk to any builder you want their are alot. v-force 2 reeds, modded shift star, 28-30pwk keihin carbs (or stock bored carbs), if you can find some get a set of RZ350 shift forks and drum (gives you better/smoother shifting), milled head (.25) or nosshead, all new barnett clutch/hinson basket, pro flow k&n no lid, +4 timing. for suspension, just go with some shocks all around since you are on a budget, works fronts and rebuilt rear, and a steering stabilizer. maybe get the stock swingarm extended. also some tires, those hoosier flattrack tires should do well on the streets.

Try giving Trick Racing a call. They build some of the fastest street banshee motors around. Go with lots of swingarm at least 6". BIG PORT & POLISH.Strut bike. You can make your own struts that come on & off or buy them aftermarket.

There has been alot of growing interest in the NW with banshee drag strip racing.

We have about 8-10 regular circuit racers that race in the same NHRA class as the stock street bikes.

yeah its possible just find some good deals (HQ or ebay). I think someone is selling some t3's in the for sale section, jump on them because they are hard to find.

well i say t3 because that's what I would use for an street dragging shee. the reason is because you cut 2" off of the belly and reweld the pipes, what this does is give you unbelievable top end. their's other high revving pipes but I would take the cut t3's out of all thats just my personal preference, you dont have to use them its your choice.

lol I dont think its a complicated process. take it to a shop and have them do it, but you also have to place them on your banshee and find a place where they clear the frame/etc and then weld them in that place. you dont have to use t3's as I said its all personal preference.

Hmm.. What about cubs?

takes about a grand out of your spending money for the cylinders w/ porting, then you have you have to pay for all the other stuff. you can put out some real power with the stock cylinders just find someone who knows how to do it. if you want a cub go ahead, but think about your options/spending limit.

So if I wanted a cub engine - How much would it take to put it ALL together? (pipes, carbs, clutch, tranny, steering, etc.)

i'd have patriot build your cub. the cylinders and spec1 porting is about $1025, 28mm pwk carbs about 300 (give or take) new, new pistons about 160. you can use your stock head and stock reed cages, etc. then you have to get pipes, aftermarket reeds, and alot of other stuff but it would run you a good 2000 to build. look here for more info, http://www.patriotracing.net/Cheetah%20Cub.htm . just letting you know these motors are all about top end.

for a street shee on a say 2500 budget.. (prices being pushed a little)

-get a set of tires street drag tires.. approx. 300

-port work with head cut.. approx 750

-longer swing arm (if you dont already have one).. 450

-34mm carbs (face it anything you do is going to need hella top end the 30's arent going to cut it) 350 (getting a deal)..

-a set of inframe drag pipes.. 500 (give or take)

-a set of struts.. make them yourself for about 20 bucks..

that would set you up pretty good for a 350 stock cylinder.. and thats all if you havent gotten any deals on anything at all...
