23champ Posted July 31, 2005 Report Share Posted July 31, 2005 Buzz Fought held his first race in Farmington KS this weekend. The track had 200 ton of sand hauled in and put on it. Excellent track in my opinion, they groomed it as often as possible (about every 4 runs or so). My bike was down, so I borrowed a friends banshee who had a Passion dune port running on Pump Gas. Jeff from F.A.S.T. showed up with his Bad to the bone raptor. I don't know what he has done to that thing but it is crazy fast (for a raptor) he was smokin the shit out of yfz 450 and 450rs. I entered in the Banshee class and the open class. Well, I ended up winning the Banshee class. But the open class was a differnt story.. I ended up working my way into the final four, I won my first race against another banshee the first round of the final four. Then I ended up racing Jeff my second run. We both cut a good light, and had nice, clean, straight runs down the track. I was prolly my best run of the night, but I got beat by about 2 bike lengths. I had a great time, and will most certainly be back for the next event. It is a well groomed and watered sand track located approx. 7 miles west of Atchison, KS. This was only his second race, so he's still working the bugs out of the entire system but it is a good time. He's going to try and run once a month thru Oct. Anybody who likes to drag race or just hang out at the races and catch the excitement are invited. There is a concession stand on site with reasonably priced food and drink. Gate fee is $5 Rider entry fee is $10 Each class pays back 90%. I'll post directions as the next race date draws near. locogato11283 Posted July 31, 2005 Report Share Posted July 31, 2005 sounds cool. whats wrong with your bike ED? jeff told me he has some hop up stuff for the yfz450's but i didnt know he did anything with craptors. im assuming it was a 100% sand track? so im guessin you ran haulers? sounds like a cool place. thats not too far away i might come check it out sometime. too bad the next one is aug 27th tho. ill be in minnesota at the makato hillclimb that day. who all showed up? cairo have any bikes there? It was ran real well and I was glad I helped water the track as it finally came around and was hooking good. 23champ, you made me work for that one as we both came out hard and i always had a good time racing you!!! I would say it is about 75% sand and the rest dirt . Most ran paddles. My Raptor ...... well its a 798 BIG BORE, STROKER ,NITRO BURNING ........ NAW.. IM JOKING. It is a little ol 686 with cam, F.A.S.T. port , and big carbs on alky and a 265lb rider! I took the duals off of it and it has Sparks pipe on it now cause the duals were leg burners! They were supposed to make 5more hp though. Cairo was there Friday night with his boy racing his yfz450 but not on sat.. I didnt think i was gonna be able to beat that Banshee w/ alky, override trans, drag pipes,etc. bike in the dash for cash but i took 1st place! This Fat boy drove his azz off. lol You all should try and make it to the next one as we had a blast. Yes , loco we do alot of Raptor work and other 4stroke modifications also!! Tinks bike would have been close but the guy ridin it deep staged to deep and jumped the gun. He beat me the first time we raced by almost a bike but I was taking a nap on the line. Duhhh, lol I really figured a alky , override bike would have torn me up. I know one that I had built would have for sure!! Poor Tink, he is a hell of a guy. I think he had 2 or 3 bikes down there and the ol Raptor got the best of all of them this time. Give him shit about gettin beat by a damn tractor, four stroke with a fat guy!
