Guest nightmare
I raced at the Butler County fair in Ohio today. I got damn neer half tracked by a 250r. I run in the stock class. I have a 2000 Banshee, and I can't belive how bad he beat me. This guy wins every year. You are not supposed to have any engine mods, I even cut a good light and hestill busted my ass. It wasn't just me he was beating every one 450s, 500 quadzillas, and other Banshees. I hit all my shifts I have been riding for a long time. Just this one guy that beats me every year. I think its time I get a little sneaky and lighten the fly wheel and bump the timing 4 degrees. All they check is that your air box lid is on, and that you have a stock pipe. Internal mods they can't check for. I still had alot of fun.

racer
how close do they look at those pipes? cause cheetah cubs look real stock (painted black) and mike like 66 hp with factory pipes. food for thought............
Guest nightmare
I'm thinking about a Gorr woods port, cause most of the time I ride in the trails. I only run a couple drag races a year. I usually run Pro Circuit pipes only going back to stock for the drags. I can't compete with the big boys and their full out drag bikes. Will the Gorr woods port work well with stock pipes, or should I just say screw it and go all out?
wesw
STOCK PIPES suck donkey dick plain and simple they are only good for boat anchors if that.
race-a-holic
Something to consider.I once had a 250R with a Paul Turner pipe.It wouldn't out run piped banshees. Now,still think that 250R you raced was stock? There is no way.Dude,he done some serious work to that engine. Guest nightmare
There is no doubt his quad is not stock. I used to have a 250r that was piped and it wasn't that fast. I don't think I could have beat him with my Pro Circuit pipes on. I would like to cheat a little myself. I just want to bust his ass. He has beaten me twice now. race-a-holic
This is not the first time it's happened.I 've raced banshees that were suppose to not be ported, regular gas,etc...They ended up beating me.There is no way.But when you're at tracks that has favorites, what can you do?Either quit going or go to just have fun.I'm going to go and just try to have fun. rocketboy
the cub is about the only thing worth trying if you got to win and still use stock pipes might as well not compete otherwise IMo because a stock 250r exhaust is actually a pretty good pipe even on a ported 250bike,the banshee pipes on the other hand are completly dog shit and the exhaust is designed all wrong shapes and sizes .they weigh 26lbs complete (ive actually weighed it ) aftermarket is like only 12 pounds complete atleast mill your stock head and run a 15 tooth front Edited August 4, 2005 by rocketboy
