sycoracer911 Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 my friend tried it in his dirt bike and said it worked really good... let it idle for 5 mins and the cyl was still cool to touch..... anyone else use this? im thinking baout getting it for the shee Quote
RNBRAD Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 Really good according to some that have used it. Another good products is redline water wetter. It will actually cool better because it can be used with straight water. It has corrosion and boil over protection, just no freeze protection. My shee never see's freezing temps. Quote
SANDSTAR Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 I run waterwetter. It seems to run cooler, but I didn't have an overheating prob. to begin with. I wouldn't use it as a way to fix engine overheating issues. If you are too hot, you have problems that waterwetter and engine ice isn't gonna fix. The stuff IS good for keeping things a few degrees cooler, which may help extend engine life and keep hp up during long periods of riding. Quote
sycoracer911 Posted July 26, 2005 Author Report Posted July 26, 2005 it gets hot just i dont think its over heating... just looking for a way to keep it cooler Quote
97banshee350 Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 i havent used engine ice in the banshee yet but i am running it in the rapter and it seems to keep it a lot cooler. need to get a tempature gauge to see if it really works. Quote
Guest nightmare Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 I put some engine ice in my buddy's Banshee. It really does work. His Shee used to get really hot in the woods, now he can ride in the woods all day. Quote
kw04 Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 i run engine ice and havent had any problems yet. Quote
hittintrees srh Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 ive used engine ice and water wetter (not together) in all of my quads, im not sure if it helps much, but one thing for sure, it does'nt hurt at all. give it a try.. Quote
JARE77 Posted July 27, 2005 Report Posted July 27, 2005 (edited) I've been running engine ice in my bike for about a year and a half and I have no complaints. It looks pretty cool in the clear hoses too! Edited July 27, 2005 by JARE77 Quote
loganskinner Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 i run the Waterwetter also. it runs fine, havent overheated the shee yet with it in there. ive heard great things about Engine Ice though. i would say its worth a try. Quote
Toomey Banshee Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 I run water wetter in both shees, and have done so for the last couple of seasons. No complaints. Next season, I'm gonna give engine ice a try. Quote
RNBRAD Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 You guys running water wetter with water alone or with anit-freeze? Quote
9603banshee Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 engine ice works excellent, but they say not to keep it in your bike over winter because it deteriorates seals and hoses over a period of time when not in use....just what I've been told by a tech... Quote
05bansh Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 I just started using Amsoil's coolant. Its the exact same ingrediants as engine ice- propelyne gycol. And for 20.00 for 1 gal of concentrate that needs to be mixed with water is a pretty damn good deal. You get almost triple as much for about $3.00 more than the engine ice. I'm sold on it. Quote
