Trinity pipes vs. T5's

I have T5's on the Shee right now but I have a set of Trinitys Stage IV's on the way. Pipes only. I got them at an absolutely awesome deal and bought them just to pretty much resell them. Heres my question....how do they compare to T5's? I just got my quad to the power mode where I feel comfortable (FAST) and I want to get more bottom end and keep the top end. There must be a reason that Trinity pipes are $700 a set and T5's are like $450.....is it just cuz Trinity is overly proud of their product?

I have ran both and prefer the T5s for sure!

Trinity is awful $$ proud $$ of thier stuff. :angry:

It's not cause they are overly proud. The system is built with the best materials- stainless Steel and billet aluminum, very expensive materials. Plus you don't have to purchase any clamps with the Trinity system, that's saving there. You don't ever have to worry about the finish degrading, chipping, rusting, etc. Isn't that worth something? When you lay it out it's really not that much. I think you may still be able to get a full set from rocket pig for around 580.00 a set.

 

You have the best opportunity to see why they cost more. I would run both sets and see what fits you better. From my experience the Trinity's have more top end power. Another thing is the quality is better than the T5's, especially the silencers. The detail and finish is second to none I guarantee you that.

Doesn't trinity have a titanium banshee exhaust now?? I could have sworn i have seen that somewhere :confused:

We made a couple prototypes but the cost was going to be incredibly high so we never went into production with them.

 

There's not much of a market for $1000 Banshee pipes.

i fail to see much market for 699$ pipes either,... not when you can have a custom personalized set made for your exact porting specs of your motors timing for even less$$$$, ill agree stainless would be sweet though. what is so significant about trinity porting that makes your stage 17 pipes superior i n comparison to other pipes? most builders use similar port timing numbers and motor specs.

Cuz at current rate, stage 17 pipes are like 100 years ahead of their time :P

 

Now i would be curious as to this question but with the current stave IV pipes

Harry worked on Banshees for 15 years and came up with very specific porting that we still use today.

 

There are other shops out there that do very similar porting and I'm sure that the Stage IV pipes would perform just as well with their port jobs.

 

But it's a risk, because there are also shops out there that use different porting specs and the pipes won't put out the same power with those port jobs.

 

In short, we know the Stage IV pipes work very well with our porting. You may not see the same gains if a different shop ports your bike. Or you might see the same gains. It's hard to tell. I know a few of the guys on HQ run our pipes and you should probably ask them where they got their port job and what kind of power they're getting out of the bike. It's really a case-by-case thing.

I have run both on my motor and the trinitys definitely pulled harder, but they did not fit, i have trinitys head and it has a nice abrasion on the left side where the pipe constantly would hit up against it even after we used a "precision" hammer to massage the pipe around the head (an indentation about 2x4 and a 1/2 inch deep), i called trinity and they said my frame was bent so i sold the pipes for 200 bucks and put on cpi's, they fit great and the bike runs better, which is really too bad because i liked how the trinitys looked and how they nice they sealed (am having seal issues with my cpi's) and i also really liked their silencers, my buddy that has the trinitys pipes now had t5's before and he claims they pull harder also

You may have been able to tweak the cpi's enough to get a good fit to the frame but not at the exhaust port. Your frame may just be bent. Get some measurement off another frame and make sure.
