Rad valve models: difference between 36, 36A, 36M

Does anyone know the technical differences between theses models? i have the he 36's.

I believe the earlier models didn't work with larger carbs. I had the 36a i think and I they didn't run very well with my 35 pwk. If I remember right the intake neck on the rad fits perfect into the stock manifold and since I had a bigger manifold for the 35 pwk it must have caused some type of turbulance from the dead space around that intake neck. I'm not a scientist or anything just my take on that whole problem. Put stock cages back in it ran great. ran better once I put the V-Force in.
