broke
Very nice, I would love to get one of the bikes. But, the earful I would get from my wife just wouldn't be worth it.
BansheeGuy_IV
Hey hey hey, I am going to have to rehash what Jim, from Passion, is saying. I think the original poster's problem isn't jetting, or reeds, or leaky seals. I think his setup requires race fuel. He's developing preignition leading to detonation and ultimately destruction. The melt down caused the reeds to blow out, not the other way around. You have two options. Rebuild your engine and have a RZ head properly setup for pump gas, or run your current setup with some decent race fuel. You can't go wrong with VP C12 or Torco 110. With the right octane, you won't melt any more pistons. BG

PassionRE
That looks killer. I'm a littled worried now about my own RZ head, I took .025 off it, should I be llokin for another one?, or can I have the squish re-cut on an exchange head from you?, what should I do or am I ok? 496289 Send me your specs on ex. port height from top of port to head surface and squish clearance (measured with solder inline with piston pin) and I will tell you exactly what to do to achieve a more livable squish velocity.....Jim
BenBB
I'm glad I had mine cut be someone that knows what they are up to. 496312 Same here...I had no idea there were two different RZ head styles out there. And stupid me polished the one I had before I sent it to Dan, it's now adorning my garage wall, luckily he had one of the "right" ones layin' around (not sure the exact technical difference but the one I didn't use had a much wider squish band and a smaller pocket). I do need to find another one though, some of my desert races are at 6000-9000' elevation...
