scotts96fast
I have one last problem with the shee....I have a harder pull at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle, than WOT.You can really feel the pull in the midrange and drop off at the end of the gear. Also the gears last twice as long than being at WOT.I know the jetting is fine.I'm thinking I either have more wheel spin at WOT and/or the clutch is slipping.I don't know....Has anyone had this type of problem before? There's been alot of talk about the street bike clutch working great for alot of you.How can you tell if my clutch is slipping? Is there some type of test i can do next time riding. racer
not much of a test really. pop off the clutch voer and see if the friction plates are worn. if they are it may be time for some new ones. however you may get by with some stiffer springs from toomey. if you do decide to go with the streetbike clutch its from a yzf600. i belive FAST racing has them put together in a kit from the proper bike to fit your needs. locogato11283
when you get in the higher rpm's does it feel like its still revving just nto going anywhere? if so then buy a new clutch. and while you are at it i would inspect the pressure plate, and clutch hubs. if that stuff is worn buying a new clutch will only be a temporary fix. jeff @ FAST sells the clutch, hubs and pressure plate for very reasonable prices. give him a call at 1-785-364-5325
scotts96fast
when you get in the higher rpm's does it feel like its still revving just nto going anywhere? I would say yes....holding at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle you can feel the RPM's get higher and higher. At WOT the RPM's grow so damn fast. I feel the same as Locogato it's the clutch.I don't think I have a worn pressure plate or hub there new from last year. Can any others add their 2 cent's.... fixitrod
If you find it's not your clutch it really could be your jetting. I had an issue, thought my jetting was fine, couldn't climb hills right, couldn't pull 5th to 6th. All the symptoms of a lean jet. Turned out I was rich and my expansion chambers weren't reaching a good temp to build the pwr I needed. I had to lean it out. If your rpms are just dropping off when you hold it full throttle and come down to 3/4 and the pwr pics back up it's te main .

race-a-holic
I'm fixing to replace mine. They are worn bad. It's easy to tell when mine were slipping.RPM's are up yet it just didn't to seem to be pulling like it should.Bikes running with ya that really shouldn't.You get the idea.So it's staying in the shop until I get new clutches.Hopefully that will be soon.I plan on getting them from F.A.S.T. racing as well as the shift mod.I've heard very good things about F.A.S.T.racing. scotts96fast
ok guys,I rode the shee this past weekend and kept in mind the jetting and/or clutch problems that I have.Holding the shee at 3/4 throttle and going WOT sometimes it sounds like the motor will fall flat on it's face. Also when doing this the RPM's will jump up .I did many speed shift runs and the damn thing just pulled like hell. The motor sounded awsome! But when I'm on/ off the throttle, I have No consistency.sometimes it pulls and don't.I'm a bit shunned from a jetting problem because there is no consistency.I feel I will be calling Jeff for a clutch. Dos anyone have any comments?
locogato11283
Dos anyone have any comments? 400306[/snapback] you will love that clutch..i would also invest in basket, hubs and pressure plate, otherwise you are temporarily masking the problem..
