Pipes

I am thinking of getting some new pipes for the shee. I have a 2:1 on there now that the guy before me put on it. I am trying to decide whether to get Rockets or Toomeys. I do lots of trail riding and hill climbs stuff. Some dragging with some friends in fields and stuff. I am thinking of getting a set of Toomeys off of LGR13 for $350.

what other mods, do you know how to change gearing and tire sizes? Or do you have access to different sized tires. I can get you to where you'll kickass in the trails but theres some requirements on the motor that need to be met. Wether your running rockets or Toomeys, plus gotta know if you want or intend to get into dragging, long hillclimbs etc.

 

Basically what are your intentions, what are you expecting, and do you know how to work on your shee at all.

Yes I know how to work on the shee. I have a set of a little bigger tires but I think I am gonna get new tires soon. I have a set of Maxxis razors on there now, cant remember the size and its not with me right now, and I was gonna get another pair of the same tires for the rear here soon. What is involved in changing gearing? I would like to kickass in the trails, and be pretty fast in dragging too. Also I dont do really long hill climbs but some of the hills are pretty big I guess.

Still didn't get all the mods. Either way, you'll want to bump your compression up. If you can run race fuel get up to the 180psi range if not get as close to 160 asyou can.

Get a simple woods port, even a sport port will work if you are a DIY kinda guy.

 

The sprockets on your shift side, tight low gear trails aim for a 14(stock)tooth front with an 18" tire.

 

If you run open logging type trails aim for a 15 tooth sprocket and a 20" tire.

 

I recommend the 2 into 1 carb setup from trinity or graydon. 33mm wil be fine, 35mm if you ever wanna goto a 400cc+ big bore engine.

 

Rockets or T-5s will work with the nod tword rockets. Bias obviously as I own the rocket business right now.

 

Reeds I'd go with vforce 2 if you can afford them.

 

And either the shift-pro kit or pm boonman about the shift star mod, either will make shifting much smoother.

 

That should get you some serious trail and hill performance.

I would like to find a set of Rockets but I dont have $600 to spend on pipes right now. I found a used set of T 5's for $350 shipped so I might go with those. Also I have stock 14 tooth sprocket right now with I think 19 or 20" tires. Also I saw that you are in Indiana, I am in Ohio, you know of any shops around here or close to you to get a port job? By a sport port your meaning doing it myself? cause I dont have the grinder to do it.

I can probably get you a set of bare black rocketsfor $400 + shipping.

Used obviously, but very lightly maybe an hour if that.

 

I have the sport port templates and could do it for you for free if you bought the black rockets for $500+shipping. Which is hell I think $15 if that.

While you got the clutch all apart, might I recommend one of those shift-pro kits.
