sanddragon2004 Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 Any one had experince with these? CLICK HERE Seems like the price is pretty good 390033[/snapback] great recreation/dune shock. not an MX shock. Quote
SANDSTAR Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 I have a set. I hammer them real hard and they just soak it all up. Great shocks. Get them set up for a heavier rider than you really are if you ride hard. Quote
03LE Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 I have a set, I didn't think I liked them untill I put my stock shocks back on, now I can't wait to get them back on. (Sent them off for rebuild) They are alot better then stock IMO Quote
NickyPap Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 That's exactly what I have except my springs are not black. I love 'em and the price was great for my kind of ridin'. Quote
grounded Posted July 12, 2005 Author Report Posted July 12, 2005 Thanks for the replies, now then for sticctly aggressive dune riding and hill racing I am looking at those or the elka dune edition. The elkas are from what I understand non adjustable and non resivior type, and also more expensive. So , between the 2 types (works dual rate resivior / elka dune edition) what would you guys go with? thanks again Quote
SANDSTAR Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 Elkas are nice, but I have never had a reason to get any other shock other than Works. They are cheap, rebuildable and work really well. Quote
Bansh88 Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 I have a set of triple rate no res that I am building up. just had the springs powdered and i'll send off to rebuild soon. I debating to wait for +2 arms first or maybe build them for +2 and just wait till I get arms. Or just buil for stock. Decisions, decisions Quote
grounded Posted July 13, 2005 Author Report Posted July 13, 2005 Well , I think I'm going to get some dual rate non resivior elkas from alba, they run about $460 shipped, for riding in the dunes these should be all I really need, I get pics up when they get here!! Quote
sanddragon2004 Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Elka dune edition use the same shock body and 5/8" shaft as the full on race types just more plush dune specific valving. for the extra doe id go wtih the elkas. they will hold up better between rebuilds in my opinion, and give you higher resale value if ever u decide to sell the bike.
