The only thing ive downloaded on the computer is AIM, MSN, win mx but delete, LIME WIRE, alot of songs thats it .When i use intrenet explore its sooo slow but when i use mozilla firefox its quite fast .. also does anyone know of any free virus bloxers or something like that . i think my computer need help befor its dies Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Lee Posted July 4, 2005 Report Share Posted July 4, 2005 You'll definitely want to run these two programs about once every two weeks if you use Internet Explorer: Ad-Aware SE and Spybot One will find things that the other won't...but these are the only two programs you'll need to eliminate your spyware/adware problems. For a GOOD free virus/resident scanner, check out BitDefender Free. DuneRoller Posted July 4, 2005 Report Share Posted July 4, 2005 Another good free antivirus is AVG Free. You could also run Hijack This along with the 2 tools Lee recommended. I would recommend you scan with that one and post the log file though as you can actually remove things you don't want to remove. Also, as much as none of us want to get any more Microsoft software on our computers... get all the Windows updates. There are some malware removal programs in the updates that work pretty well. I used limeware once 1st damn file download was some type of adware spyware (solutions 180 I think).. cause me 2 days of cleaning and hair pulling... A good rule of thumb on the internet if it's free it prob. ain't virus or spyware free... I run adware SE 1time a week and norton virus scan and that usully keeps me good. If it gets slow I run at will.. I trashed internet explorere long ago... Firefox all the way baby... Even though I am starting to see more and more adware for firefox it's nuthin like IE...
