chris642
im wanting to get one of thouse roundhouse swingers, but dont have that cash, 600 big ones. how much better is an aftermarket swing arm VS a stock swingarm with the conversion? I am sick and tired of trying to get the chain perfect and keep it there, its a pain to adjust. while im there i will probally grind down all the brake tabs since i got rid of the parking brake and got stainless rear lines, then buy some billet clamps. and of course get it powdercoated black. i know cotton eyed joe sells them for $200, how much do you think a welder would charge to slap it on? basically i think it may come to $300 or a little more, is it worth it or just save it untill i get some new front shocks? locogato11283
well first off from stan its 215 shipped. and if you cant afford 4 or 500 bucks for a new swinger, its def the way to go. i would go with american star brake lines. i just bought them for the raptor project along with rear brake line clamps that i drilled and tapped to bolt to the swinger. its looks really nice. if you wanna do the conversion hit me up. i have done several of them with no problems as of yet. stan has even shipped the parts directly to me and then the guy sent his swinger, i welded it up, got rid of all the bullshit and sent it back within 2 days... Why anyone would build aftermarket swing arms with stock rear tabs is beyond me? Hey Logo, can you take a pic of what they look like? id be curios to see what one looks like? chris642
Thanks for the information guys. I will have to ask my uncle if he knows any good welders locally. He has a 50 thousand dollar custom chopper, he can probally get it done and PCed for very little to free. I thought i heard loco say he did the conversion, but i was not sure. I would rather get it done locally since shipping is always a bitch, i would guess it would be $20 each way. I already got the rear brake line on ebay for $25, And it is an american star. Hopefully i can make enough on my LT and parts to get some quicksand arms and elka shocks! Then comes the swingarm, it should be all done by the end of the summer! chris642
if its not to hard to explain, how do you adjust them? it looks like you do a good job on them, is it posible to trim those tabs the stock carrier bolts onto?

badcompany
I got my aftermarket chromoly swingarm for 300 bucks. But if Stan's kit comes with the carrier that would definately be the way to go on a tight budget.
